To paint a military style sporting rifle.

I did the stock, grip and handguard on my AR since I just couldn't bring myself to mess up the finish on the aluminum. I found a texture paint at HD that I liked the shade of tan. Used the Fusion primer on the plastic parts first since it wasn't a plastic paint. Used regular primer on the...

With all of the fear mongering going on

I have to admit that I didn't have the stamina to get through the entire "Atlantic" article but do have a Q from the first third. IS there a "gun show loophole"? I live in Md. and have bought pistols from stores both in the store and through them at a gun show. In both cases, they did a...

    Interesting OC event today

Face it there are a lot of people who are scared of guns. We need to just get over that and do the best we can. The OP did the right thing. Confrontations just make us look like nutjobs.Sorry, that's the way it is. I probably would have gone back carrying concealed or maybe just left it in the car.

Impact on Gun Supply/Demand/Prices in USA if Romney is Elected?

The NRA seems ok w/ Romney so that is good. The problem w/ O isn't just what he will try to do in the next 4 yrs if elected. It's also the Supreme Court judges he may appoint who will kill the second amendment. And the problem there is that these judges, and the two he already appointed will be...

    Trigger Boosting... Cheap Trigger Job?

I like the idea.Everyone knows that just plain shooting a gun will smooth it's action. But why wait a couple thousand rounds? There are way too many examples of guns and other machinery where some type of lapping process is used to get a real good fit between parts to ignore the process.And...

Proper paint or method for touching up front sight on Browning Nomad 22LR

If you use model paint and want white, get FLAT white. I'm not sure of the science but it seems brighter to me.I use Brightsights plain white. The flourescent white does in fact work as a flourescent but in normal use has a yellowish tint to it so is dimmer than plain white.Good luck

    Paint for sights

Maybe you should try this experiment w/ a a black marker. That way you have a chance to un-do it just in case. Then use the touchup paint.

    Bead Blasting Stainless Help

Haven't done any guns but have done a bunch of auto stuff. So I'll ad that I'd start w/ the lower pressure and also keep the nozzle back away from the gun.You want the same surface over the whole gun so start from maybe 8-10 inches back. Then as you see how it's working move in closer. Also be sure...

    Question on Beretta 92F

For an immediate, very noticeable reduction in trigger pull weight you just need $5. Buy a "D" hammer spring and install it.Get it from Langdon as mentioned above and might as well order a "comp" spring at the same time. The "D" is absolutely reliable in defence as it is installed in all DAO...

need info, have fixed sight handgun that is shooting low

Jeez-what is the big deal here? You need a taller rear sight not a new gun.Does the rest of the gun suit you? Then fix the sight. This should be treated as a fun to do- new gun - got to make it shoot for me- project. This is NOT a-it won't feed-or -it won't eject-or-the slide won't cycle-or-this...

    Laser sites - Alternatives

The CTC's on our home protection Beretta Elite II feel identical to the factory plastic grips. While I haven't actually put a caliper to them, it is my wife's gun.If they were thicker, she would have said something for sure.Buy the CTC's!!

    Beginner Handgun Questions

I'd go the .22 route cause my wife and I didn't.We started w/ 9mm but I soon realized I couldn't shoot too much and that I liked shooting. So I bought a Buckmark standard. To give a popular ammo comparison both from Walmart: 9mm Winchester white box value ammo = $10/box/100 rounds .22 Federal...

    Laser sites - Alternatives

    Thinking of .22 pistols

Get a Buckmark.I bought one of the basic models 4 yrs ago as my second pistol and didn't really know much about guns then. But the thing just shot and shot and is very accurate.Soon thereafter traded my first pistol, a Ruger p93dc cause it had trouble fully closing the slide on, a Beretta 92...

    First 9mm and intro

While my wife and I are Beretta 92 fans, I recognize there are other options.Since you mentioned home defence as a use for your new pistol, I'd like to comment on action types.I strongly prefer DA for our and your use.As we are not highly trained swat team members, I think about my response to a...

    Why is 22LR so accurate?

I think .22 accuracy is mostly due to the barrel being solidly mounted to the frame and the sights solidly mounted to the same frame. So the sights never move in relation to the barrel. Most every centerfire pistol has the sights mounted to the slide which moves relative to the barrel. This is why...
