    Ring placement...

I would absolutely keep the mounts on the upper receiver. I prefer a cantilevered one piece mount personally but if it works for you and it's accurate, go with it.

    Remembering a Remington .22LR

I was going to guess 541S as well, beautiful rifle. I've spent a lot of time with one.

    9mm AR pistol.

If you are think you will only shoot 5.56 suppressed, go for it. But do some reading on .30 caliber cans. A .30 can would certainly be more versatile if you have calibers to suppress greater than 5.56. I've been very happy with my experiences using a .30 can on a 5.56. Just something to...

Hi Power vs CZ p-01 for CCW

I love BHPs and have owned a handful of them. I'm down to two. Once nice example bone stock, one worn and kinda beat up one with custom work done. I should have started with a nice base gun but I was stupid. I've never loved the esthetics and minimal amount of slide exposed on CZs so I've...

Scope caps (better than Butler Creek)

I love the Leupold Aluminas. Honestly the Aluminas and their CDS system is what sways me to buy Leupold more than other brands.

Should I buy a ss pin case cleaner or just my sonic?

Just one clarification...I'm assuming the above poster meant "media separator" as opposed to "use the same media tumbler as you would with dry". I'm sure nearly everyone using dry walnut/corncob media is using a vibratory tumbler which certainly will not work with wet tumbling and SS pins.

    Ted Nugent?

People and entertainment is a matter of taste, but I actually like what I've seen from Ted. He's a passionate, outspoken supporter of the second amendment. He's an ambassador for hunting. He shows himself and his friends and family safely using firearms for legitimate reasons (defense...

What are your prefered die lock rings on a Dillon 550?

I love the Hornady rings for my Rockchucker. For my Dillon 550B, I'm still using the Dillon rings just due to setting it up that way. Not sure if there is room for the Hornady rings on the toolhead. Maybe someday I'll check it out but I hate to mess with the toolhead now that it's set up.

    Barrel threading

I'm sure you are aleady aware, but the 455 is about the best gun to get a barrel threaded on due to the fact that it's a switch barrel system and the barrel can be removed by simply removing two screws. That way you can just give the bare barrel to the person doing the threading. Less work and...

    Barrel threading

These are awesome. I really wish more firearm manufacturers would sell factory rifles with this configuration. Centerfire rifle, sporter weight barrel, and 5/8x24 threads with a shoulder for suppressor to seat against. I might have to send a couple sporter rifles your way one of these days...

Considering a new SBR build in 10MM AR-15

I think you summed it up there. You already have an SBR that shoots a ~200 grain bullet at the same speed. So would you spend $1k or more for another SBR that does the same thing but with a less aerodynamic bullet? I went through the same thing but going the other way. I wanted a SBR in...

    Decisions to make

It all comes down to what you think is worth it to you. I personally find a 16" AR a very short and handy rifle but I don't practice clearing rooms or getting in and out of vehicles with one. I've never really had a big desire to cut the barrel to 10" or so and lose velocity and gain noise...

    Custom Seating Stem

I "made" custom seating stems for 9mm and .45 ACP. My dillon .45 stem was making a slight crease in my bullet. I bought two extra seating stems, roughed up the internal aspect, lubed the bullets with Redding/Imperial sizing wax, and rigged up a setup to keep it square. I used deep wall...

    Walther PPQ 9mm

I liked both the VP9 and the PPQ M2. For me, the ambi paddles are just awkward for me to use so the M2 was the better choice for me. No regrets. I got the "Navy" model with a threaded barrel to shoot suppressed.

    Leupold fuzzy focus?

I love the vx-3/vx-3i and have them on multiple rifles. But not on my .17HMR. On my 17HMR I have the scope skylerbone menimtioned, the Leupold 3-9x33 EFR with adjustable objective. It even has CDS which is a bit optimistic with 17HMR, but I've used it and it works when zeroed at 100 and...

Looking for a decent RKBA TV series. Is Shooter any good?

Check out anything directed by Michael Mann. Some examples include Colateral, Heat, Miami Vice (both the TV show and the movie). Of all the mainstream movies out there, I think he does the best being realistic with gun stuff. He even had competitive shooters play bad guys on Miami Vice TV...

Building a 6.8 SPC II-looking for some advice

Second the recommendation for an adjustable gas block. I don't have a 6.8, but I built a 6.5 and now am shooting it suppressed. Nice to be able to adjust the gas flow for reliable functioning without excessive gas, force, wear and tear, and recoil.

Pistol Caliber Carbine Builds - Parts sales and What parts did you use and why?

I built a 9mm AR based SBR. Quarter Circle 10 Colt pattern dedicated lower, 7.5" barrel from QC10, heavier and longer Spikes buffer. If anyone has any questions on it, let me know. It's always nice to hear what works from others who have already built something similiar when you are building...
