    After market GP 100 grips?

I would think one might be able to talk Herrett's into making a "Detective" grip for it which should be more compact. Having the stud vs. frame allows a lot of latitude in what can be done. From the pictures the Badger grip appears to be more compact than the Hogue. Haven't had any Badgers on...

SF Bay Area, S&W gunsmith needed

I'm down South. In Gardena nr L.A. there is Alan Tanaka of AT Gun Works. He is at 310-327-2721 or [email protected] . He is also a member of the Custom Pistolsmiths Guild. He has done a number of action jobs for me including several 629's. A late version I had with the MIM parts...

    Advice on .22 revolver

I will also recommend the K frame S&W in Model 17, 18, 617 configurations. The heavier weight helps to steady the gun. On the other hand if it will be carried more than shot the Model 34 or 63 in the smaller J frame has something to recommend it. The actions on the K frames can really be...

    S&W M15-2 'Smithing Questions

I would go the 3" bbl. route, too. Changing barrels requires the proper barrel wrench with inserts. Here the labor on changing the barrel is about $100 by the time one figures recutting the forcing cone if necessary. On the other hand doing this you can have any endshake taken out, set to...

    What Speedloaders Do You Like?

I've used both HKS and Safariland and as noted above prefer Safariland due to one less motion to release. Safariland does make a large speedloader for the .44 mag as I recall as have several for a 629.

    625 45ACP conversion to Colt

.45 ACP vs. .45 Colt Cylinder The .45 Colt cylinder is physically longer. The barrel in the forcing cone area behind the frame in the cylinder window will need to be shortened and the forcing cone recut to accommodate the longer length of the Colt cylinder.

    Bulldog?

Another Option If you could find one a Rossi 720 might be another option and I think one could be found used for far less than $300.

    10mm Revolvers

10 mm revolver As the N frame can be modified to take 8 .357's it should be able to be modified to take 7 10mm's which would lighten it a bit. A 6 shot L frame would be interesting out of the factory with a steel cylinder.

SP101 in .22 LR questions please

Sight The factory sight can only be adjusted for windage. Jim Stroh of Alpha Precision (www.alphaprecisioninc.com) installs a J frame sight on SP's even in .357 mag.

    .357 SIG revolver?

Why? Supposedly, the bottleneck enhances feeding in autoloaders (not an issue with a round gun) and allows a .40 S&W platform to be readily used (there aren't very many .40 S&W revolver models). Aside from the case setback mentioned above the .40 S&W would have a larger diameter case than a...
