Piston rifles are not new technology, it being new has nothing to do with it not being accepted. The action it's trying to replace is not broken and is still serving.
My choices for brands in order: Noveske, LaRue, BCM, LMT, DD, Colt, Spikes.
So I have 3 handguns in two calibers; 45acp and 9mm. Recently my friend and I have decided to go into the AR world. I was considering reloading just while only shooting the pistols but now with the long guns coming into the picture I would really like start getting into the reloading.
So the...
As far as I can tell most hammer forged barrels from reputable makers are very accurate, close to ss. Combine that with the service life of the hammer barrels and I think I'm sold. I originally was going to order the sniper upper from LaRue but think I'll be looking elsewhere to find a cold...
So is a stainless barrel considered "not good" for a combat rifle? Or is it just considered overkill and too expensive for a tactical rifle. Most of what I've heard says that that the ss barrels are more accurate and last longer so I can't see how this could be a disadvantage. I could very well...
Once again I am so impressed with the level of professionalism and information on this forum, this is definetly the best source for firearms topics.
To clarify a bit my plan is to run a 16" barrel with a mid-length gas system, as other have mentioned this is good platform and will yeild good...
I'm currently in the process of figuring out what upper to buy and I have run across some things that have got me a tad perplexed. Any info from some experienced people would be helpful.
1. 1/7 twist vs 1/8 twist - I've noticed most people will tend to recommend 1/7 for a battle rifle but I...
I have the p30 so it would be my choice, however I would recommend the sa/da trigger rather then the v3 or LEM. I'm still working out the very long pull of the trigger and is sort of hindering my accuracy. But 500+ rounds with no failures.
Thanks for all the input guys I really am greatfull. I'm doing a lot of reading and it seems like just when I have a decision made I read something else and my mind changes. I was looking at some upper receiver groups but it seems with them I would have to buy a separate bcg and charge handle...
Thanks for the info guys it's all helpful stuff. What do you consider a good barrel length? Also what are good sights for these guns for tactical purposes? Red dots are high on my list, any recommendations would be awesome.
So... I'm still relatively new to the whole firearm scene. I made my first pistol purchase two years ago and have purchased two other pistol's since then. Recently I've really been wanting to get into the AR type platform rifles but I need some advice. I'm not a hunter and my rifle would be...
Oh my god, I haven't been a member of this forum very long but this topic has come up so many times I'm going to puke.
Heres the break down:
Opinion 1)A lot of people think Kimbers are total ass crap
Opinion 2)A lot of people think Kimber makes a good firearm for the money
Opinion 3)But a gun...
I don't like the price for a gun made with lower quality parts. Given a lower price I'd say they were a fine gun, but as of now I think people are overpaying for a lower quality pistol. Does this mean there junk, no, just overpriced.
