Rebuffed scammers call the law on victims

The "IRS" and "Microsoft" scammers are overseas outside the reach of US LE. I suspect they're also in countries whose governments encourage these scams so there is no risk for them to "swat" someone in the US. I also have a home-based business so ignoring calls from unknown or out-of-area...

Plans to sell smart gun backfire

Replace the part in bold with "show how it can be readily converted to full-auto" and you'd have my workbench.

    Further FFl question

At least you waited a bit to go get it. I've signed for guns and in been in the process of moving them from the front porch to the office (I'm home-based) and had people call because they were notified that it had arrived. I have also had others wait in the driveway for the UPS truck to show...

Multiple handgun purchases and ATF reporting

ATF now has a hand-dandy fill-in PDF you can use to save them and then email as an attachment. No need for paper, and you have proof it was sent.

    Illegal select fire weapons...

This. Guy should have been popped for felon-in-posession (10 years), illegal manufacture (10 years), illegal posession (10 years for a machine gun), illegal transfer (10 years)... and I'm sure I missed a few.

FFL fees and other taxes question

    1) If that's the case, why would you not have known what their transfer fees are before you placed your online order? 2) California and Washington are the two states that currently require FFL's to collect use tax on the value of firearms that are purchased out of state and shipped in for...

Hubby Is Appearing on Sons of Guns!

Actually it was none of those; the official reason is we're too closely linked to some RKBA organizations. Politics...

Hubby Is Appearing on Sons of Guns!

So, the show was on last night, IMO there's way too much drama but that's the producers's decision, not Red Jacket's. For those of you who want to see another video of the M11 conversion in action, this bit of the guy who actually built the gun (it wasn't done by Red Jacket) was filmed before...

Mental health check requirement to own guns???

IL will revoke a FOID or refuse to issue one if you have voluntarily checked yourself into a mental health facility in the prior five years. IMO this is an awful law as it will discourage people who care about their RKBA from seeking treatment should they need it.

Does Federal law require that firearm transfers at gunshows require an ID check?

Bear in mind that some states require private parties to transfer through an FFL.

    eForms going away?

It's a form that was started, partially filled out, and for whatever reason (user walked away from the computer and was automatically logged off, the site went down, etc) it was never submitted for processing. The form is saved as a "Draft" in the eForms system so the user could open it back up...

    Gunbroker question

If the seller is not a licensee then the buyer's transfer FFL will very likely tell the seller to pound sand; non-licensees are not given copies of FFL's for a variety of reasons, never mind a wet-ink signed copy of one. All that the non-licensee seller needs is the first 3 and last 5 of the...

    Innovator Enterprises, Inc vs ATF

Summary: Because the ATF has no defined standard for what a silencer is/is not, its determination letter stating that Innovator Enterprises, Inc's "stabilizer brake" is a silencer failed both the Chevron and Barnhart tests, and the ATF's determination was arbitrary and capricious. ATF also...

Purchasing long gun from intrastate FFL

ATF used to provide a form so that FFL's in states that had buyers in remote areas (think Alaska) could purchase firearms from dealers. In fact, if you look at the available forms from ATF at http://www.atf.gov/content/library/firearms-forms you will see it listed as "ATF F 4473 Pt. II (5300.9)...

    eForms going away?

No, it is not going away. There are just some updates being made to tighten up security in the system. Also, it's a relatively young/immature IT system and thus was deployed - like most other new government IT systems - with a metric ton of bugs in it. Those are being worked out.

    Taking Credit cards

I used to have them and dumped them for high fees. They're not really FNBO any more, the bank end is TSYS and if you do a search on them you will find a ton of complaints. For high volume FFL's use either Payment Alliance International or Transnational, and for low volume with no monthly fee...

Hubby Is Appearing on Sons of Guns!

He had a great time while he was down there, and it looks like he'll be going back later this year to film another episode. I can't say before the show airs what they made, except that it's not a gatling shotgun. :p

    Shipping to out-of-state FFL

Yet another error in the FAQ's posted on GB. And yes, there are several, and they cause FFL's no end of headaches.
