Ruger SR9 and CZ75; compare and contrast

I own a CZ75B and a Gen 4 Glock 19. I have never owned an SR9 but have fired a SR9C. I really like the CZ and it was my favorite 9MM pistol until I got the Glock. I was a Glock hater for decades but not anymore. You should really give one a try before you buy. They're in your price range.

Front Sling Swivel for S&W MP ORC

Can someone tell me what front sling swivel will work the the S&W ORC? The tech at Brownells was no help and I can't find any S&W literature to give me an answer. I'm assuming it goes in the bottom of the gas block.:banghead:

Model 64 Grips... Hogue did not work!

I too like the Uncle Mike's combat much better than Pacmayr's or anything else for that matter. I retroed some to my Model 10-6 and they fit perfect.

Did we ever think it would get this bad?

Primers are the one component I have to buy since I'm a bullet caster and hand loader. I've been stocking up for the last couple of years for the very reasons you mention. When you can afford them and can find them then you'd better get out the checkbook. I store mine long term in a frost...

    Opinions on 1885 Highwall

1885 I bought the browning 1885 in 3006 from ATVALASKA, I have had it only a short time, but I have enjoyed it very much. Will not be parting with it anytime soon. I would highly recommend this rifle in the 3006 cailber. Thanks ATVALASKA great rifle buddy!

    Barnaul Chrono Results.

I was wondering if this was the FMJ or the HP's. I shot some 95 gr. Barnaul JHP's out of my PA 63 across my chrony this weekend. The average velocity was about 975 fps. as I recall. I was thinking of using this instead of the Hornady XTP ammo for defense purposes (chronied 940 fps) but have...

FJM or HP defense ammo for .380?

Don't have a .380 but I did do a little testing of the 9X18 in my PA63 last weekend. We had been testing 45 ACP on water filled milk jugs and the better defensive rounds were penetrating 3 or 4 jugs (Golden Sabers/Gold Dots/ Hydra Shoks). At the end of the session I decided to try some Fiocchi...

Hey 1911 guys, A quick question, please impart your wisdom

Hello, I'm cetainly no expert but were it my choice I'd go with the 5" Milspec. First of all I don't like stainless 1911's. I also live in sunny North Central Texas and I can understand why you might want a stainless gun for concealed carry but the proper holster will protect your weapon...

My S&W M18-3: Tell me what you think of it?

I'll tell you what I think of your 18-3. I think it looks just like mine except mine has the smooth target grips. They are fine revolvers as has been previously stated and they're getting hard to find and expensive. I paid $300 for mine about 1 1/2 yr. ago and consider it money well spent.

    Federal 165gr .45-any good?

GlenJ, replied to your message. For other's benefit the Magtech Guardian Gold did okay. It clocks about 1025 fps out of my Combat Commander. I'm now concentrating on testing some Speer 200 +P Gold Dots. It's also clocking at around 1025 fps out of the CC but with the heavier bullet. As has...

    Short barrel balistics

If I were going to carry a 3 1/2" barrel 45 acp, I'd test 185 Golden Sabers or Gold Dot +P's.

    1911 housing flat or arched?

I have large hands and I agree with what Brass Balls says. My Combat Commander came with a short trigger and arched mainspring housing. When I pointed the gun toward the target with my eyes closed the sights were well above the intended point of aim. By switching to a long trigger and a flat...

    Federal 165gr .45-any good?

For what it's worth a friend and I did some 45 ACP ammo testing Saturday and the Federal Personal Defense 165 gr. hydra shok was included. We were shoot water filled milk jugs using both a Combat Commander and Government Model. While most of the ammo used penetrated 3 gallon jugs with the...

    44 Mag 45 Colt questions

Sure in one of Rugers a hand loader can equal of exceed the 44 Magnum with certain bullets (heavy weights). You certainly better be able to do it a less pressure since Mr. Linebaugh (who has been quoted) states that the .45 Colt in the Ruger is capable of handling 80% of the pressure of the 44...

    Inexpensive Police BUG....suggestions

Why not give the PA 63 Feg a try. This is the Hungarian PPK look alike that shoots the 9X18. I had a Mak and while it's a fine gun I found it too bulky and heavy for pocket carry, which I prefer for a BUG in Texas. The PA 63 has an alloy frame making it much lighter than the Mak and a trimmer...
