    good carry 357?

I have had Ruger LCR's in both 38 and 9mm. The LCR trigger is the best of any I've tried. Far better than any S&W J-frame or Taurus. IMHO, the trigger is the most important factor in any handgun. I can pocket carry my LCR's even with shorts and t-shirt. They fit fine when wearing standard Levi's...

    Holsters: Conceal, convenience dilemma

Just received a new slim clip from Garrett for my Silent Thunder IWB. It does make it easier to put on and take off. It seems plenty sturdy as we'll. this change will encourage me to carry my 1911 all the time, even when getting in and out of the car often.

What does the gang think of these holsters?

I doubt you will find a better holster than the silent thunder from Garrett. My only suggestion would be to talk to Garrett before buying and ask their advice on which mounting option to choose. Hey have many options. I just changed my My silent thunder IWB from the std clip to the slim clip...

Holster experiences - Wild Bill's Concealment

I also always found Wild Bills to be great quality holsters. I've met them at gun shows and they are extremely nice and thoroughly helpful. I've ordered from them online also and always received a great holster exactly when I was told to expect it. Great people doing fine work.

    NFL Anti Second Amendment

@Robert I get what you're saying. I'm not a lawyer and I'm not interested in the legal ramifications or lack thereof. The NFL is an entertainment organization making millions/billions off of a predominantly American male populace. How can we accept the banning of a commercial for Daniel...

If you were king what gun laws would you make?

"If you were king what gun laws would you make?" I wouldn't make any gun laws. I'd abolish them all. There would be murder laws, violence laws, property laws, theft laws, but no gun laws.

    NFL Anti Second Amendment

"A lot more background is needed." Wow, awfully quick to begin the dismissal on this. My first reaction is more along the lines of, "how can the NFL possibly justify banning a DD commercial?" Especially with all the trash they do allow. I understand the desire to stay on "the high road"...

    Holsters: Conceal, convenience dilemma

The Remora looks interesting. I may try one, although re-holstering looks to be an issue. That would make practice drawing a lot more difficult. Still might be a better mousetrap if it does everything else well.

    Holsters: Conceal, convenience dilemma

It's funny you mention Silent Thunder from Garret Holsters. I have three of them. They are the best I have found and that is after trying 15 other holsters for 1911's, Sig P226 and P228 and others. However, their standard clip, while very strong and solid connection to the belt, is very hard...

    Holsters: Conceal, convenience dilemma

I've carried various handguns in various holsters. Other than pocket guns and mouse guns, I believe it is quite difficult to find an ideal rig for medium to full size guns. Please let me know if you've found a solution to the below issues I have: 1) Most good rigid, durable holsters which...

Name the Best Range Gun That Is Carry-able, Best Carry Gun You Can Shoot Accurately

I shoot everything I own accurately. If I ran across something I couldn't shoot well I would get rid of it. Ive shot a couple S&W snubs that Didnt make the cut. However, My Ruger LCR is a dream to shoot. I shoot +P loads out of it on every trip to the range. Don't limit yourself to full...

What's Your Real CCW?/Mr. Colion Noir

I have numerous handguns which would make the top 10 lists for best conceal carry gun, but I have yet to find a better setup than a Ruger LCR in a pocket holster. It has the best trigger of any snubby I've tried. It handles +P loads well. It will never FTF. MOST IMPORTANTLY it goes with me...

So I'm building a custom Mauser...

I've got some decent bottom metal, which has the push button at the rear of floor plate. I'm considering splurging on Blackburn's aluminum for the trigger guard/floor plate release and less weight. I will shape and inlet my own stock out of a blank. Looking at Bastogne and Claro walnut...

So I'm building a custom Mauser...

Right now I've got a box and floor plate of unknown origins (no spring or follower). I need to settle on that stuff before I start shaping and inletting my stock.

So I'm building a custom Mauser...

Ed, I agree. That's why I intend to put a lightweight barrel on it. The heaviest I'm considering is a #3 contour with about a 0.630 muzzle. But I'm looking for good balance too. So far, of the rifles I've held and shouldered, the ones that seem light and well balanced are somewhere between...

So I'm building a custom Mauser...

I do reload, and will tailor loads for this rifle. I'm leaning towards 6.5x55 for it's versatility, great bullet selection, light recoil etc. Might even consider the Ackley improved version.
