    GLOCK FAILURE- leave your story

Here's my tale of Glock woe. My local gun store had a smash and grab theft. A thief took a rock and broke a window then a gun case. I came into the store a few hours later and the owner told me what had happened. I ended up looking at a Gen 3 Glock 21SF. When operating the slide the gun was...

Developing a new wildcat - what do you need?

What do you need to develop a new wildcat? Money. Lots of money. First you will need to specify the chambering reamer and have it and at least a go gage made. You can do this with or without making an example cartridge but making one helps visualize your new cartridge, especially the throat...

    "Quiet" ammo.

I don't own air rifles so whatever an air rifle could do is meaningless to me. I have used the 710 FPS Quiets to kill dozens of raccoons over the last 6-7 years. Its the perfect match for my bolt action 77/22. One on the X and one to the back of the head when it hits the ground is 100%...

    300 blackout was a mistake

For me the only reason to own a 300 blk is to use it like a 22 LR but with a lot more power. I use only subsonic. They really work well on varmints in the yard. I would not like to be without one. I also reload so it is very cheap with free 223 brass, pistol powder, and inexpensive 168 grain...

    Who's had a 'negligent discharge'??

One for me - UD when I was a teen. I had a Remington Sportsman 58 shotgun. My brother and I had been hunting and we walked several areas. We unloaded our shotguns when we drove to a new spot. Last spot I dropped a shell into the chamber and touched the bolt release. The shotgun discharged into...

    Can firearms be sold online?

It seems a little bit of a stretch to try to use this as an example. The person in the Las Vegas case broke the law vs someone selling a gun legally. I expect that if the seller of the ammo in the Las Vegas case had not broken the law he would have been in zero legal jeopardy.

Any love for the 9x18 ?

I'm a big fan of CZ-82's. They have ambidextrous controls, SA/DA trigger, and 12 shot magazines. They have always seemed to be an excellent value to me.

Has Ruger ever made an attractive, iconic firearm?

Well, at least Rugers have a nice personality. The only Ruger I'd ever admit was good looking and possibly iconic is the 77/22. Bonus points for the 22 Hornet.

    Hornady A tip bullets

Oh, I know that faster twist barrels are available. And I'm one of the "us" that shoot matches - 600 yd benchrest for me. I tried a 7.5 on one of my dashers because Bartlein had the barrel on sale. I'm not seeing where you would say these mass produced Hornady bullets promise a level of...

    Hornady A tip bullets

There are proven match bullets that will outperform the new wonder Hornady bullet for 1/2 as much money. At least one has a higher BC and a record of success. But not much marketing hype. So now that it is fairly common to see 8 twist barrels here comes a mass produced bullet that wants a 7.5...

    Hornady A tip bullets

I saw the Graf's advertisement today for these bullets. $75 per 100 for 6mm. o_O This is very expensive for a mass produced bullet. It does not make any sense to me. You can get a real handmade match bullet for less.

    Longshot in 9MM

My favorite full power 9mm load is 5.7 grains Longshot with a 124 grain bullet. Works superb. It is a max load so I would recommend starting lower.

    Seecamp LWS-380 for DEEP Concealment

I have shot an LWS380 quite a bit and it remains the most painful handgun I have ever shot. It is not just a straight recoil issue but the gun rings like a bad hit on a baseball bat. Think of sticking your trigger finger into a mousetrap to get an idea. Beautiful well made little guns though...

    Sightron Warranty Warning!

I have turned in two SIII's and one SI. All three were purchased used and under circumstances that made me assume they had an issue. They were turned around in less than the quoted 6 weeks with a note describing what was fixed. No cost to me except shipping to Sightron. The SIII series remains...

What brand makes the "thinnest" die lock rings??

Do you set it and leave it? I'm guessing you do since you have LNL bushings. Low strength Purple Locktite would work if you don't need to adjust.

    Heard of A.MERC brass?

Yep, junk. If you keep going you will find some with flash holes so off center you will break de-capping pins.

    Benchmade gun destruction

Reading this thread I'm trying to give BM the benefit of the doubt. But I'm stuck on how BM agreed to do this in the first place. Putting myself in BM's place I don't think I would ever agree to help cut up guns regardless of circumstance. My feeling is that if the people in BM are really that...

    9x18 Makarov....

Yes, TYM just lost all credibility with this. 380 brass is not supported by the larger Mak chamber. If you did much of it you would eventually have a brass failure and damage to the gun. The difference in bore diameter .355 vs .365 means that the bullets won't shoot well either. Really a dumb...
