Update: Cleaned the bore with a brass wire brush and a drill, took the stock off and cleaned everything really well, shoots like a dream. :) Thanks for all your help.

    300 Savage won't eject brass

Well, I finally got up to my dad's place and picked up the rifle. I took the buttstock off and cleaned everything the best I could and also cleaned up the chamber. I went to buy some ammo at Wal-Mart for it and was disappointed to find it at $30 for a box of 20. Anyone know of a good website...

    300 Savage won't eject brass

rcmodel: I'll give that a try. Turbo: No obvious signs of excessive pressure, what would be a non-obvious sign?

    300 Savage won't eject brass

I have a 300 Savage lever action that won't eject brass. It seems like the brass must be expanding in the chamber when it's fired. The ejector hook thingie (technical term, I know  ) seems fine. I actually need a ramrod to get the brass out. Everything else works fine. I've tried...

    First two days carrying

It definitely starts to feel better the more you do it. Also, most of us have a drawer full of holsters we tried and didn't like, so don't feel bad if you go through a few before settling on one.

Saiga 12....I think I caught the FEVER.

I've found mine feeds the Wal-Mart Federal bulk ammo just fine, but will not fully eject the other bulk ammo. I guess the other stuff doesn't have as much oomph to it, so it doesn't cycle the bolt correctly. The federal stuff make for good cheap skeet ammo.

    Ruger GP100

Boy, I shouldv'e updated this thread. I ended up trading a P89 I never used for a well used but good condition 150-series Ruger Security Six. It's a 4" model with Pach grips, and it's a blast to shoot. :D

    Sig230

Would you also consider the P232? I think they only came in .380 but otherwise are essentially the same thing.

Summer is here. Lets see your carry!

Sig P230 in a homemade holster.

    Type 03 FFL

Does the CLEO need a copy of the Citizen statement too? I'd assume not, but I'd like to be sure.

    Type 03 FFL

Did the Curio and Relic requirements just change? I'm hoping you can help me here because Google is just confusing me (either that or I'm doing it myself...) I ordered the C&R license application form sometime last year but never actually got around to filling it out and sending it in...

how to deal with friends who are sort of anti-gun...

Maybe they are still nervous enough about guns that they don't trust themselves to carry. It takes some people a LONG time to get over that, if they ever do. Doesn't necessarily mean you shouldn't be friends with them.

    Saiga-12

They require a break in period of about 100-200 rounds to function properly. I found Federal bulk pack is the cheapest stuff that works in mine. After the break in mine cycles the way it should. Beautiful shooter.

What CCW's do you believe complement each other for seasonal carry?

Summer: Sig P230 carried IWB small of the back Winter: Taurus 1911 Strongside OWB Both with Hogue grips and hollowpoints. I would prefer to carry the 1911 most of the time but just can't hide it very well without a jacket (I'm rather small). I am considering getting Crossbreed Supertucks for...

Sounds supresssion tube thingies (not silencers)

I'm not sure exactly where to put this so maybe the Mods can help me out if this is the wrong spot. This is a link to a neat little video about Swiss gun traditions. In it is a shooting range where people are shooting with the tip of their barrels inside what looks like a 55gal drum lined with...
