    best leveraction

Marlin actions are more reliable for heavy use than either Rossi (Win 92 copy) or Winchester 94's. I've owned all three, only the Marlin didn't break!

7.62x39 steel case and die life?

I'll load them up and let you know how it goes. I'm only going to reload the cases once, as I have hundreds of them. The load will be a cast 155 grain bullet, and a charge of approx 17gr of IMR-4227. Roodles

Thanks guys. I'll load up the 1,500 then, and then once the primers have run out I will go over to brass. Roodles

7.62x39 steel case and die life?

Thanks for the replies. I've bought 1500 Berdan primers, but as I understand it, once they are gone that's it. I de-prime with a water press (you know, where you fill the case with water and hit the mandrel with a hammer) and it is slow and messy... But the savings are IMO worth it. I have...

7.62x39 steel case and die life?

I have stack loads of steel 7.62x39 cases here which I want to reload ONCE and then chuck. I have seen people mention that the steel will wear out the dies. I'm sure I'm not the first person to have attempted this, so can anyone actually tell me, how quickly will the dies wear out? The main...

    Mosin Nagant M38

I'd like to hear from owners on here, what distances have you successfully shot at, and what was the grouping like? I know there is a lot of variation between rifles, and surplus ammo etc so I'm just looking to hear what the 'average potential' might be. Thanks Roodles

    M24x1.5 thread protector

Does anyone know where I can get a M24x1.5 thread protector from? I've taken the muzzle device off my AK (because it doesn't do anything) and need a thread protector. Thanks, Roodles

    7.62x39 lead bullet - crimp

Thanks for all the replies. I will resize some brass and measure the neck to see what it is coming out at. My main concern here is that the bullet could get pushed in the case when chambering. They don't seem to move in or out but I couldn't work out why some of them would spin. I've...

    7.62x39 lead bullet - crimp

Thanks - yes that is what I found, some of the bullets could spin (although they are crimped well enough not to move in or out). The rifle die set does have a roll crimp feature on the bullet seating die, but I haven't used it.

    AK-104 flash hider

DoubleTapDrew, that is correct on the folding stock versions. The stock is pinned on mine, so the flash hider is removable. The UK law states that the gun cannot be less than 60cm (23.5" ish) overall, so one side has to be pinned :o henschman, I was shooting it with some Ukrainian...
