    Thinking of buying S&W 329PD 44mag

I agree. The S&W stock grips are not very practical. The stock wood grips are pretty until you use them. The rubber grips are easier on the hands, but not by much. The polymer grips for the S&W 500 are not a perfect fit on the frame; they have a slight gap here and there, but so what? They...

    Thinking of buying S&W 329PD 44mag

I agree. I can have shooting one or two hundred rounds of .44 Special. Two cylinders of full house Magnum loads is about enough, and leave me with a sore wrist. You just have to learn to enjoy that sort of thing.

    Thinking of buying S&W 329PD 44mag

Oh yeah. It kicks. It's worth putting up with that.

    Thinking of buying S&W 329PD 44mag

I have had a 329 for several years. It's my favorite carry gun in bush Alaska. I usually load it with Federal 300 grain Cast Lead Flat Point rounds. It will work well with practically any factory loads. Just remember; do not hot load S&W revolvers.

    S&W 4013 in 10 m.m.

David E, I recommend that you be very careful when quoting Bad_Man_One lest you provoke his ire. He is not a "retired aerospace manufacturing engineer". He is, more correctly, a "retired Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer". He gets picky about stuff like this.

Help Removing Stuck baffles from suppressor

There is something called Berryman Chem-Dip available at better auto parts stores everywhere. It is used to remove corrosion and residue from old carburetors prior to rebuilding them. Should be effective and safe for aluminum and stainless steel, but will probably destroy any sort of enamel or...

what kind of air compressor to clean guns?

I might add that you don't need anything special in the way of compressors. One of those light duty contractor models that you can carry with one hand will do just fine, and useful for plenty of other stuff too. Don't obsess over this. Less than $100. Sears, DeWalt, Milwaukee, Porter-Cable...

I know how to hold my rifle, thank you...

Agreed. Just watch a High Power or Service Rifle match. Pay attention to the shooters that shoot Expert or better. Especially the ones that get medals.

what kind of air compressor to clean guns?

After using the Ed's Red/compressor method for about five years, my guns are usually very clean. As long as you clean them frequently. Like every time you shoot them. Oh yeah, pay RELIGIOUS attention to blowing out all the little nooks and crannies. Takes maybe five minutes. Wear safety glasses...

    Please explain the "Scout Rifle"

I have a Savage Scout in 7mm-08 and a Burris 2-7x scope. I am very happy with it, although I think I would like to replace the scope with a Leupold Scout Scope. It is light and short, very handy to carry in thick woods and get in and out of the pickup. Much flatter shooter than 30-30. Box...

    Hunting ear protection?

The last time I shot without hearing protection was more than 30 years ago. My ears still ring. I have difficulty hearing normal conversation if there is much background noise at all. It is silly in the extreme to engage in an activity that is likely to involve shooting without effective hearing...

I guess that means no, but you don't have to sugar coat it.

    S&W 4013 in 10 m.m.

OK, BM1, The answer to both questions is yes. Now, can you give a couple of straight answers to a couple of straight questions without obfuscation or name calling? How much does the 1013 weigh compared to say, a 1066? What muzzle velocity do you get from the 1013 with common factory...

That's why I clarified in my second post. But you seem to have missed that.

    S&W 4013 in 10 m.m.

Thank you for restating that for me. Now if you would reread my original post in this thread, and think about it a bit, you might realize that I was referring to the concealability of the 1013 in comparison to the standard service size 10mm pistols, such as the 1066, not to a magical gain in...

    S&W 4013 in 10 m.m.

Thanks for clearing that up. I had been laboring under the misconception that obtaining a more compact 10mm was the whole point of this exercise. Best of luck anyway.

    S&W 4013 in 10 m.m.

Bad_Man_One, I'm not completely sure you understand what I'm getting at. Perhaps I should have stated things more clearly. Portability/concealability; I didn't make this clear enough. I'm talking about the concealability of a 4013 compared to a typical service style 10mm pistol such as a S&W...

    S&W 4013 in 10 m.m.

Sounds like fun, and exclusive and all that, but could you tell me how much portability/concealability you gain for all the work and reduced velocity as well as increased blast, flash, and recoil?

Need to reblue my great grandfathers guns. Opinions needed.

That revolver is what I would call a "shooter". Not a museum piece, no special collector value, but a personal treasure. You probably won't ever want to sell it, so resale value is irrelevant. Your personal satisfaction with it is foremost. If it were mine, I would certainly want to keep it...
