    Police Trade In Pistols?

I've seen 'em posted at summit gun broker. Also sometimes at gunbroker.com.

    "I regret to inform you..."

Thank you for raising and loving your son. You raised him to be principled and strong enough to risk -- and ultimately give -- his life for us and generations to come. Your family and the families of other soldiers are in our prayers. God bless you.

    Your favorite gun daydream

Buying a huge chunk of land (100 acres?), and turning it into a personal shooting paradise, only to be shared with the chosen/invited few.

Newspaper Establishes Registered Gun Database, Equates Gun Owners to Sex Offenders

Upside is that criminals can figure out which neighborhoods they would be advised to avoid. Of course, it can make those same neighborhoods better targets if the owners are away. Funny that newspapers are perplexed as to why mainstream America has lost interest in them. Exhibit A.

Guns don't kill people. I do.

    Glock 27

Shaker -- you probably know this already, but if you're new to handguns, practice a lot before carrying. Master all elements of handling whichever gun you choose before taking it out. Seems obvious I know, but it's not always. Definitely try renting it before buying...no way to take feedback...

OEM Magazines vs Aftermarket For a Kahr CW40

I had a Kahr CW9, and was able to find used mags at one of the local gun shops, after checking for a couple of months. You may have some luck on the interwebs too.

    Glock 20 reliablity

Sigma .40 to Glock 20. That's a phenomenal upgrade. I second the feedback from these guys -- have always known G20 to be uber-durable.

    Pistol Choices

1911 for me. My strategy for the past few years has been to put off buying one until I can comfortably afford to both buy the one of my choice AND shoot the heck out of it. It seemed silly to buy a low-end version (Taurus, et. al.) of such a great design and spend a fortune in ammo before I...

    Coworker Break-In

I placed a reasonably small order for 9MM Luger on a very popular and well-regarded on-line ammo site (pre-shortage) and a couple boxes of Makarov were mixed in. The seller rectified the mistake immediately. But it just goes to show even knowledgeable people can make mistakes. I too am...

    Battle of the 9mm's.

One option is to religiously and thoroughly search through Gunbroker and MWGB.com. I did that for weeks, as I was in a similar position as you. Sold my Kahr for not enough at the gun show, and had a limited budget. After weeks of looking, found a like-new Glock 22 for $375. Great deal (very...

    Battle of the 9mm's.

Here's how I would rank it: 1. Keep the CZ 2. Keep the CZ 3. Take the Taurus, I guess 4. Go for the Ruger 5. You can get a NEW Sigma for that price around here.

Thinking of buying a Springfield XD?

Hahahahaha, very good point. I understand adding the "extras" to pad profitability, but I'd rather them just pad it with a moderate mark-up, which it looks like they're doing now.

cz 75 vs Beretta 92 vs baby eagle

You've narrowed it down to three great guns. I own a CZ and a Baby Eagle (all steel model.) I've also put a few hundred rounds through a 92FS. My personal ranking would be: 1. Baby Eagle -- this gun is built like a boulder. VERY easy shooter, a bit more stable laterally than the CZ (in my...

    The 10 MM

I'll get into 10mm once I start reloading as well. I've read/heard too many good things about it to think it's dead. I'll probably get a Glock 20, which is at the upper limits of size for my hands.

What do you think of this gun?

The red trigger makes it look toy-like. Not good. The backstrap looks like an afterthought add-on. Also not good. Are there other slides available with different text? Like a "collect all three!" situation? Standard Glocks (e.g. 17, 19, 22, 23, etc.) are about $450 NIB at the gun shows...
