Add some grease to the ram via the top zerk fitting....that will add resistance to the ram. You'll have to be carefull as to much grease will make it to stiff, it will loosen as you use the press.

I like the 44 Special, I had this one made before Ruger offered one on the medium frame. I use the Skeeter load in my Ruger 44 Specials.

IIRC there were some bad bushing that made it out to the public, some started to look like that with very few rounds loaded. Hornady has been replaceing them.
