I've been re-reading Jeff Cooper's "Art of the Rifle".
In it Cooper states that the proper way to carry a lever action rifle is Condition 3; that is with an empty chamber. I've always carried my Marlins with a loaded chamber on half cock and kept my finger off the trigger until ready to fire...
Does anyone have any experience with a recently made 572? Has it gone the way of some Remington products.
I saw one at a local shop and it seemed ok and it is still in production.
One of my former coworkers landed a job there in NY. He said their QC could use some serious improvement.
I've been a Remington fan for a long time so I'm not trying to start a flame war. I have noticed that that Remington's guns aren't quite what they were.
