The Marines are taught that shooting the pelvis is in the same point range as shooting the T-Box in the head. The idea being that you destroy the BG's pelvis and his legs will no longer work, stopping him and making him fall, then bleed out.
I have experience with:
WASR-10
SAR-1
AMD-65
SLR-95
SLR-100H
Draco
I can tell you this much. The SLR-95 was very amazing, but the SLR-100H...Oh man...that thing was a shooters dream. Never had a misfire or a jam in either of them and I put some JUNK ammo through em out of JUNK mags...
I dont hunt, but I can. I went on a trip to hunt coyotes in 2005. Shot one and it didnt die right away. Never pointed a weapon at an animal since. So, if I were hungry and needed food, yes I would hunt. But after seeing that dog die as I walked up I chose not to hunt for sport. I dont have a...

Hey everybody! I took my Kimber Stainless Gold Match II to the range and decided to eat up some ammo I picked up on the cheap at Wal-Mart. It was some TulAmmo in 230gr round nose. I was getting a TON of blast residue and a fat ball of smoke off each shot but in the end I posted up a 2" group at...
Hey guys, I got my wife signed up for a conceal carry class and before she goes I want to get her a good 9mm to carry. Now keep in mind she is about 5' 2" and 100lbs soaking wet. I want it to be a 1911 for a couple of reasons: 1 is the weight will help trim recoil, 2 it will last forever and 3...
My point about polymer vs steel to the OP was that he can rebuild a 1911 until the day he dies. And that I have personally seen glocks and XDs give it up by snapping or fatiguing. Thats all I was getting at with the "Hammer" comment.
Quoted from Winthepennant "I've been shooting pistols for more than 20 years.
Odd. I've never felt the need to wreck my gun with a hammer and see how well it shoots afterwards.
99% of us will keep our guns in near-pristine, well-lubed, clean condition. I could care less how a gun shoots...
Dont mess with a polymer, I owned a XD 357 SIG and a XDM in 45 ACP and I can tell you this. Yes, they are both very sweet little guns. BUT! Having seen how thin the polymer is on some spots (and watching some poor guy snap off a trigger housing on his Glock) I can tell you that it will NEVER be...

Hey man! Guess you will be in the area soon. If your near the Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point areas I can give you the ins and outs of the local gun shops and a few of the ranges.
Good luck with your trip!
Okay gents,
The deal here is, I am flying tomorrow from North Carolina to New Mexico with a stop in Georgia. I will be bringing my 1911 with me in my checked baggage. And I have already read the TSA's, Delta's, and United's regulations on flying with firearms and I will be traveling in...
