Single Stage Presses: Are they pretty much all the same?

RCBS v.s. Lee I currently own both a RCBS Junior and a Lee Challenger single stage Press. Depending on your needs and budget, both can be OK. The Lee – an OK / basic press for not much money – light weight and linkage is not heavy duty. OK for loading plinker ammo, but I wouldn’t use it...

    ROA ball Question

Safety Concern Don't mean to hijack the thread, but regarding the picture with the red revolver stand. It appears that there is an open container of black powder in the case and the lid has items in it. An open container of powder at my range is considered an un-safe condition and will...

    N. Dallas Reloading Source?

Not exactly North Dallas, but Southwest Ammo in downtown Mesquite is the best in the metro-plex. Big select of reloading supplies / ammo - good prices.

    C&R license

My experience was very similar to MDEK's. After what seemed like a VERY long time with no reply I gave them a call. The agent never really gave me a reason why the delay (there wasn't a problem with how I filled out the paper work). Sounded like it just got hung up in his pile. He made the...

Hornady .30 cal 100 gr half jackets?

Don't think the seating depth is critical. I seated so about a 1/16" of the jacket showed. This prevented any sharp edges, particuarly the case mouth, that might cause a hang up when chambering.

Hornady .30 cal 100 gr half jackets?

100 grain 30 cal half jackets Used lots of Speer 100 grain plinkers and 10 grains of Unique in a 30-30 for plinking around. Much prefer the Speer 100 gr half jackets to the Hornady 100 half jackets. The Hornaday have a sharp edge on the flat bottom and the Speers had a slightly rounded bottom...

Looking for a good gunsmith in DFW, Texas

DFW Gun Smith I'd recommend Gene Williams at Collin County Gun Range in McKinney. He really knows the 1911s, is reasonably priced, and has reasonable turn-around times.

    Unique for 30-06?

Unique in 30-06 I've used Unique in an 30-06. 100 gr Speer Plinker bullets and 10 gr of Unique. Great for popping cans. Only problem is the Plinker bullets are very short. That doesn't leave much room for the fingers when seating them.
