Wow! It has been a long time since I opened this thread!
Since posting this I have researched the question very closely with the help of a local lawyer and some LEO contacts.
Bottom line...there is no trace of an exception I could find.
I wrote it off and bought an 11-inch Bowie fighter from...
Good Evening Everyone,
I received an email notification on this thread and thought I would update everyone.
After everything was said and done I went with the Hornady 180-grain XTP load.
The Federal 180-grain Hi-Shok would be my other primary choice.
Anyone else toting a .44 Magnum these...
Hello Everyone,
I have noticed some inconsistencies on the overall length of the various folding stock versions of the FAL that DSA manufactures. After speaking with one of their representatives on the phone she seemed as surprised as I was when I pointed out that they were listed the same...
In response to the suggestions:
1) Too labor intensive and I have the standard sights.
2) Possibly
3) A fighting rifle with only optical sights is not acceptable to me as I believe in a backups very strongly as Murphy is an optimist.
4) While I agree with the bombproof part, I am...
Hello Everyone,
I love iron sights and black rifles, and I have a problem.
Awhile back when everyone was buying black rifles as fast as they could I expanded my collection with the purchase of the standard DSA SA58 model with a 21" barrel, standard gas system, extended length scope mount, and...
Are the Altamont wood grips S&W currently puts on their Model 29 Classic what is described as a Skeeter Skelton style?
I love Houge's standard Monogrip for this model, but want to have some custom ivory grips made for it, but I am not familiar with the other styles of revolver grips...

I was surprised to receive an email on this thread after such a long time. So I wanted to log in and give an update.
Due to cost and other considerations I bought an AMSEC BF series safe that is extremely wide and holds more stuff than I could currently fill. The dealer is down...
Hello Everyone,
While browsing at the local gun shop this past weekend I was comparing the new American made AUGs from MSAR and Steyr. In comparing them I could not help but notice the price difference of about $400 to $500.
How has the collective experience been from the board's rifle...
I have spoken with SIG about a single action version or conversion like the P220 SAO and that is not an option. The only P226 guns that are single action are the large X-Five models and they are not available in .40 S&W.

Hello Everyone,
Does anyone have a SIG Classic series (e.g., P220, P226, etc.) pistol with the "SIG-SAFE" manual safety conversion offered by T.J. Custom Gunworks or have first hand knowledge of someone who does?
Here is a link to his website describing the conversion...
Hello Everyone,
I am in the market for some high end optics for use primarily on the range while practicing long range rifle and perhaps also in the field in a fixed position to a lesser extant. As I am somewhat new to shooting rifles past 200 yards I would like some advice before plunking...
I was having a bit of fun...not trying to start a Python versus Dan Wesson debate. In fact, I do not own a single Dan Wesson revolver, but do own one highly tuned Python. So I really could not make the comparison even if I wanted to.
So speaking of Dan Wessons...
What years did Dan...
Thought
Personally I think Danny Aiello, playing her CO and being a nice Italian guy (like me), decided to pull Jamie aside at the end of the show and say something like...
"Hey Jamie! After all da gunfights you've been in you need to upgrade your hardware to da 'Rolls Royce of revolvers.'"...
Not so fast...
Since my last post I dug out the full length movie from my video tape vault from which the clips on YouTube were originally taken. It is a Dan Wesson kind of day through the entire movie, then there is a scene near the end of the movie in which Jamie Rose confronts the head of...
Was the Dan Wesson Model 15 VR always a part of the product line, or was this vent rib version added after the company had been in business for awhile?
Yeah, I called that one wrong...BIG TIME!!!
Then again, I was about 15 years old at the time and most likely fresh off of seeing "Magnum Force" and its cadre of Colt Pythons for the umpteenth time.
Live and learn.
That guy on the train did die good though...you're right Virginian.
Can't take...
When I was a teenager and going nuts over wheelguns with blued steel I proudly identified the gorgeous revolver wielded by the equally gorgeous Jamie Rose on the weekly television series "Lady Blue" as the Colt Python. While on YouTube the other day I noticed a tribute to the actress comprised...
