That "molded" part is what I am trying to remove...I have the sight post and hood out of the dove tail....the "base" is what I cannot figure out... No pins that I can see..

For the life of me I cannot figure how the front site base on a 91/30 is attached....I know the m44 is pinned, but I cannot find anything on the net describing how the 91/30 is attached.... does anyone know??? I wanted to shorten the barrel and keep the front site..I would probably buy a 44...
