You are Reaching Retirement: What one Rifle.......

A custom drilling rifle. 50-110 rifle barrels up top and a 10 gauge barrel on the bottom. I plan to retire on safari and hunt dinosaurs.

5.45 vs. 7.62 for Urban Defense

Suppose the question were framed differntly? Like, say we're speaking about the effectiveness of the Russian military units in urban environments? And I and other members were to discuss it in that manner? And to stay on topic, from a ballistic standpoint it depends on the loading.

    .30-06 semi-auto? Any ideas?

No one mentioned the Saiga 100? While a bit of a rarity, it's certainly the cheapest option.

    The PSL

I love my PSL. For some reason it loves Heavy ball ammo, but I wouldn't recommend shooting anything heavier than 150s out of it more than a few times.

Why aren't more people glad that others prefer different types?

How do you know everyone isn't advertising for the brand/model they like the least to try and drive others away from their favorites? ;) In all honesty though I have the same idea as you. More guns for me.

    Longevity of the BPS?

The only 'disadvantage' the BPS has is its weight. It's certainly the heaviest shotgun I own, though in fairness it's also the only 3 1/2 mag gun I own as well.

    Milsurp Bolt Action Rifle Choice

No K31? For shame.... Between the two you listed I'd suggest the Mosin for economy. I have both, and the Enfield is certainly an amazing rifle. I just prefer the MN, for no real good reason other than I like it's looks better and its cheaper ammo. If you want to open up your search, two guns...

Why dosen't the .30-30 get any respect?

While this is true, it's also how the 30-30 got to be such a commercial success. With it being one of the first smokeless powder cartridges, it was a marvel able to produce velocities in excess of 2,000 FPS. For a 19th century round, that's pretty substantial.

Did not know that. Thanks for the knowledge.

    Does this exist?

Thanks. The other boards I post on allow regular BB IMG codes. Didn't know you couldn't do that here. Or perhaps it's the website I chose. Either way, lets try this:

    Does this exist?

If so, this is my dream revolver. A top break 45LC that fires from the 6 o'clock as opposed to the 12 o'clock position, and beautiful to boot. The only problem is, as far as I know it only exists in fantasy, as it's found in the anime series Trigun. So I come to you, the ultimate wisdom of the...

    kel-tec RFB in 5.56?

I love my FS2000. Best 5.56 rifle I've ever handled or fired.

Why haven't we swapped out DIs with short-strokes in the military?

I never had any problems with my standard issue A2. I cleaned it...once I think....during my deployment. It trucked on like a champ.

    Why so many anti-NRA?

The 'problem' with the NRA is, IMO, their eagerness to compromise. A necessity when dealing in politics, but it's not surprising some don't like it.
