any gun (M&P, G35,22, XD) in 40 is the most versatile. In IDPA you can shoot SSP/ESP. USPSA you can shoot production or you can shoot Limited/Limited 10 (Major PF).
over 10k of 9mm alone.......maybe another 500 of 40S&W.....Thats it. I loaded no rifle ammo in 2008 at all....... Hell, I don't think I even fired one of my own rifles in 2008.
These pistol games (IDPA,USPSA) have got me by the nads !
I shoot in SouthEast MI as well. I do all my own work on a glock and it really isnt that difficult.
I believe Doug Jones does work on glocks. http://www.acc-u-rail.com/
The sights are a must and the Sevigny's are the way to go. As far as the trigger, less is more. Reliability is the...
0.850in is the case max length
I have loaded thousands of 40's for IDPA/USPSA competitions. I have never measured the case length, only concerned with OAL.
Also, I have not experienced cases getting shorter over time, they usually grow not shrink.
It was a very busy one for me this year. Between IDPA and USPSA I mangaged to squeeze in 7 majors a quite a few local matches.
In USPSA I squeaked into B class and made Expert in IDPA. Had some pretty solid finishes at the majors but blew my chances at IDPA Nats. I managed a top 5 but...
I wouldnt call it stock piling but I have 8lbs of titegroup, 20k wsp primers and 30K bullets and about 70K pieces of brass. Which isn't much considering I shoot about 12K rounds a year in competition.
Glock is the most popular SSP gun and you can also shoot ESP with one as well. I was never a big fan of the Glock either, until I shot about 500 rounds through one. After that I was convinced that they are something more that just a black piece of soulless plastic !
The biggest reason I stick...
I prefer a fast powder with the heavy bullet, makes for softer perceived recoil.
I have shot thousands of 147grn zeros with 3.2grns of titegroup in USPSA and IDPA competition. It is a nice shooting round, soft and accurate enough. YMMV
I use it exclusively on 9mm and 40. As for being clean, no powders are truly "clean" some are just not as dirty as others !
Tightgroup is by far the best bang for the buck. With low charge weights and cheap price how can you go wrong.
I load 40 with 180 grn precision delta w/ 4.3 grains of...
I have purchased 20K bullets from Precision delta without any issues. I know at times that have had a back log but I was willing to wait. I have not had any issues with their product and would recommend them.
