I have seen some holsters for the M&P specifically warn that they are not compatible with manual safety equipped versions. I can see why. The safety lever does stick out more than a lot of other ambi safeties.
I'm keeping mine on the gun. I prefer the added safety the manual lever...
I bought my M&P40c with the manual safety. The lever has just the right amount of force required to flip it one way or the other. I'm left-handed could easily manipulate it with my left thumb without having to change my grip. Or I could swipe the lever on the left side with my left index...
That's what I've been doing - pulling back the slide slightly to take the pressure off the "slide lock". This is a two-handed operation, though.
I guess I am just so used to the following:
1. After the last round is fired and slide locks open
2. Let out the empty magazine
3. Insert new...
Sorry to hijack the thread, but I have a different "issue" with my M&P40c. I hesitate to call it a problem, because it is still brand spanking new.
I find the slide release on either side very difficult to disengage - the right side more so than the left. Is this something that will get...
I bought a National for CZ-75 from Cabela's once. Promptly returned it. I have never seen a worse quality (fit and finish) mag anywhere. National makes Pro-mag look like Rolex watches.
Hey, don't get me wrong. I don't think there is anything wrong with owning 30+rd pistol mags. They are available for several different handguns (BHP, CZ75, etc.). I personally don't see the need for one for handguns, but hey... more power to you if you do.
I don't see it as a tactical...
Good looking pistol, and a Sig to boot. I have taken advantage of quite a few handgun bargains at Academy, but they don't seem to come down on M&P prices. They want over $500 for the full-size M&Ps, and I have never seen any M&P compact in any of their stores.
With the current M&P rebate, I...
33rd mag in a subcompact concealment pistol is like a 100gal fuel tank on a Mini Cooper... fantastic to the point of being absurd.
No offense, but when I hear in the news about 30+rd mags being used in a pistol, it is usually by somebody who's bent on going to hell, and tried his best to drag...
CDNN is where I got mine. It's not really an "Extended" grip. It is very similar to the stock Hancer 2000 mag plastic baseplate- really just a pinky hook. Except the EAA version is not as thick as the Sarsilmaz. I like the EAA version better. It allows my pinky to get a pretty good hook for...
I too enjoy shooting .22 at the range. Sometimes, I spend more than half of my time at the range with my Buckmark. I agree that there are many aspect of markmanship that simply spending time at the range - with any caliber - will improve. That is why I listed several categories, which are of...
What kind of "training" are you trying to achieve with the .22 pistol?
If it is handling & presentation you want (holster draw from various positions, etc.), you are better off using the large caliber pistol you have and one of those adapter kits that plugs into the muzzle and flashes a laser...
The 800 series are out, but for 2010 Taurus is introducing "Compact" version of the exisitng "full-size" pistols. Oddly, though, Taurus seems to castrated the ambidextrous control out of the 800 Compact series. Personally, I prefer the hammer-fired 800 series to the striker-fired 24/7 series...
They should've kept making the BUL Impact. Or at least kept the short grip. The angled baseplate kept the back end of the grip very compact, while allowing enough front grip to wrap 3 fingers around it.
I just got the EAA Witness magazines I ordered, and they are a drop-in perfect fit. The Witness "full-size" 16rds mag is identical to the Sarsilmaz KAMA mag. The Witness compact 13rds is identical to the Sarsilmaz Hancer 2000
Since the Sarsilmaz's are as closely related to the Armalite...
Vonderek, I believe we both agree on fundamental #1:
One should carry firearm + ammo appropriate for the circumstances.
Where we do differ, though is whether fundamental #2 is true:
The circumstances in which we find ourselves is within our individual control.
You don't seems to...
That is quite a stretch for you to have come up with that implication. Do you really think anybody would come to a gun forum with that mindset? Point is, no one should feel safe and go blazing into any situation just because he's got a truck full of firepower.
We all have choices - even if...
Even if Mr. Denny was well-armed, who's to say the gang bangers aren't? So he picks out a few of the attackers, then gets a rock thrown at him on the head. He might still end up lying on the street in the end.
The better approach for Mr. Denny would have been better situational awareness...
I've been looking at the BUL Cherokee at Academy with some interest. $388 is a good price, but still not great enough to make me pull the trigger in it. There are a lot of good choices right around $400. I might bite if they drop the price some more.
The short barrel and full-length grip...
Absolutely! I may collect guns and admire them as object of art at home, but when I carry one, it is nothing more than an insurance policy against (for most civilians) an exceedingly rare encounter.
How much insurance do you have on your car? Really?! That's it?!! Good heavens... what if...
