Legendary guns and guns that have a "cult" following

There is a tacticool expert on Youtube who can explain to you exactly what the finest "tactical" guns on earth are. He's a paid hack and talks too much but so what.

    Opinions on Glock 36.

I'd recommend it hands down over any other baby glock. It is the least popular glock and absolutely fantastic imo. Shoot one and see. The 26/27/30 is better if you are thick in the biscuit though. Being a trim, these other options never suited me. YMMV.

    Two choices 9mm, which one?

This poll is useless. Gun choices are deeply personal. You might as well say which 9mm: Sig P226 or Glock 19? This is something you have to work out on your own, Tonto.

My idea for an army museum

I'd have realistic mock-ups of legs belonging to bodies 20 feet away. Men with their entire guts spilling out onto a dirt road. Men who had only a torso left because their lower body was blown 45 feet in every direction, who were still able to cry 'mama'. I am sorry if that sounds offensive...

    $300 NRA life membership

Lovie - I support the TSRA, which is NRA affiliated but more locally focused. I like the idea of the NRA but I know some of their lobbyist orgs and...well...sorry.

Old news about old guns that are old hat.

Legendary guns and guns that have a "cult" following

Cults are by definition irrational. You can love 1911s, AKs, ARs, etc. but to think they are special places more importance on the weapon than the shooter which makes you by definition deranged.

    Not again

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/poli...ticle-1.984550 Does anyone find it strange that the article was written by Aliyah Shahid? Aliyah in arabic means 'exalted one' Shahid is the word Palestinian terrorists use to designate martyrs (suicide bombers typically). No wonder Santa's packing.

    $300 NRA life membership

Didn't the NRA give money to Harry Reid - that pillar of liberty?

Have you ever worn out a part on a gun?

Lots of recoil springs - consumable part Broken slide lock on a Glock 36 (odd) A barrel on a 7mm Mag. Not hard to get significant throat erosion if you shoot one enough. Bolt release on a Weatherby V.

    Not again....

Where to start? Santa is not a Christian or a member of any other religion. "Heresy" does not apply. There is no mention of firearms in the Bible. The girls look cute. The girls have some nice hardware. I'm trying real, real hard to get outrageously offended and...failing. :neener: What I...

    Magnums at the range.

I was stood next to a guy with a .500 revolver. Outdoor range thank God. It wasn't just loud, the shockwave literally hit me each time he fired. I just stepped way back and let him shoot for a few minutes until he scaled down so something less than a hand canon. No harm no foul. :)

    Open Carry in Texas

I'm in the 'Support Open Carry 100%' but wouldn't do it myself camp. There's no justification for even being able to force CHL on us, let alone ban open carry but then that constitution thang is just something some old white folk from like England or somewhere wrote about 3000 years ago. :)

best gun investment - planning for bad times

Depends what you mean by bad. If we're talking about total disruption of society and serious breakdown of critical supply lines that's one thing. I'd leave my nice suburban home, pack up the cars and head into the country where I have family. In that kind of disaster I'd be focused on food...

Tula .45 smells like hot dogs and mustard

Shot some surplus 9mm from Egypt a couple of years ago. Yom Kippur War vintage. It blasted smoke out the barrel like black powder (if the round fired at all) and smelt like camel poo. The rounds went somewhere vaguely near the target...occasionally. $3 a box for around 37 rounds. You think...

"“You messed with the wrong grandmother”

A lady I work with said there's nothing you can't fix with a 30-06. Don't mess with southern women. :D

Dude carrying a gun in public in VA has an AD that ends in his own death

This story is sloppy and doesn't illuminate. Glocks tend to go bang when you pull the trigger. Using a high quality holster that totally prevents access to the trigger (MTAC / Crossbreed etc) is better than any manual safety. Most people who bitch about Glocks being dangerous simply have no...

Got Hauled In By Campus Security

It's college. College is full of liberal fascists who are by nature gun grabbers. The no guns rule allowed Virginia Tech to become the free-fire zone tragedy it was. If you were clever you'd keep your trap shut on campus, get your degree, and move on. If you want to exercise your 1st amendment...

    better home defense

If you are serious, start with passive security. 7 lever deadbolt locks, window locks, alarm system, big dogs. That will deter the vast majority of burglars. In the unlikely event you are facing a true home invasion they buy you time to grab whatever is to hand. I favor a pistol as it is a...

    Shooting with wife/signifigant other

I forced my wife to shoot a pistol for the first time in her life when she was 26. She was adamant that she would hate it. As it happened she loved it and is a naturally good shot. Being a woman she also had to pass jugement on my pistols saying they were all crap aside from the Kimber...
