    The trouble with cows:

The 100 yrd berm at out local gun club is absolutely riddled with groundhog burrows and there USED to be about a dozen of those little buggers up on top of the berm WATCHING as we'd shoot. Every once in a while one would dissappear into the brush and then reappear at the 50 yrd line and sprint...

    Police guns

As the head cook and bottle breaker for Legend Ironworks, LLC (My gunsmithing service) I've run into most if not all of the local, south central Wisconsin, weapons choices used by LEO's. As previously stated in other posts it runs the gammut from DPMS A2's all the way to Colt 6940's and in one...

    piston or gas

http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=502559 A previous thread that covers this question pretty extensively by myself and other knowledgable types. The too piston or not to piston choice is much debated with LOTS of folks on both sides. It gets pretty heated at times too. The thing to...

    bullpup 10/22

I have two dixies. One is a "street legal" SBR (12.5" barrel with a pinned on muzzle device) and the other is a 22" heavy barrel action one. Both shoot wonderfully and unlike the Muzzlelite the trigger actually works. The folks that make these have very good customer service but,,,, and remember...

Gas Piston Kit For New AR....

Zerodefect says: After some thought, and donning my flameproof underoos, I've decided to take a crack at answering this question. I get asked this one alot by customers and potential customers who are confounded by the fact that my piston uppers outclass their DI setups. Now I am NOT a...

    AR15-22 Dedicated .22lr Upper Build

Question about that red dot clone. Does it hold zero pretty good, and just how murky is the glass in that magnifier? My nephew has been after me to build him a AR.22 like yours. He wants a setup like my patrol rifle which looks remarkably like your weapon :).

    Bushnell Trophy Red Dot

If you have problems with this sight "shooting loose" there's a fix that doesn't involve locktite. Use split/crush washers behind the knobs. This will work on most rifles.. maybe not on a .458 SOCOM, but on most. It's what I had to do to my wife's slugger when she shot her's loose one day.

    Bushnell Trophy Red Dot

I have one of these fitted to my wife's M4 and she loves it. Reasonably clear glass and it cowitnesses with her irons nicely. Her slug gun has Bushnell's other red dot on it (the one with 4 different reticles and all that) which she really likes...

Gas Piston Kit For New AR....

Gas Piston Kit For New AR....

Interesting... increased recoil? really? Out of the 80 plus people who've fired one or the other of my Osprey Piston equipped rifles they've ALL mentioned that felt recoil was radically deminished. All of them. FYI... the Osprey has one.. count them.. one moving part and that is the piston...

    5.56 DMR type rifle

To Roadwild17, Sir, you'll fine the DPMS SASS to be a nice, not great, but nice shooting rifle and able to perform reasonably well withing the range limitations you've mentioned. However... that rifle is a plain old pain in the ass to lug around in the weeds. It's VERY barrel heavy due to...

Gas Piston Kit For New AR....

Combined round count between the three rifles is a little over 9k. I use two of the rifles as "show me's". One 16" and one 12.5 sbr. No problems ever, of any kind, that could be attributed to the piston. No carrier tilt/drag that I've been able to detect. It softens recoil noticeably and is...

.50 Beowulf Uppers for an AR?

The reason full/A2 stock are recommended for this upper is because of the rather "stout" recoil characteristics. The manufacturers of this weapon realized early that even pencil necked geeks and "wimmenfolk" might like to shoot it. Thus the recommendation :). Personally, I run my Beo upper on a...

Stag Model 1 or Model 2...need some advise

Get the carry handle model and then buy a set of rear flip up irons. GG&G and Midwest Industries both make nice ones. That way you'll have it both ways.

Hi guys, I just got back from the optometrist and my eyes, once again, have gotten worse. I'd been having problems resolving targets beyond 100 yrds with my leup 1-4x so I went and got checked out. My question for you fine fella's is : Should I go with a IOR Valdada 1.5-8 or do you think I...

    AR plinking scopes

Fair Warning about NcStar "ACOG'ish" scopes. They shoot loose after awhile. The way to keep it from happening to you is to dismantle the base, score the living daylights out of both the lower and upper mount interface, swab on a liberal amount of JB Weld and then put it back together using red...
