Remington 700 extractor damaging my cases?

Just a quick update. I cleaned as much as I could without removing the extractor, chambered/extracted a good few times, and it now seems to have 'worn in' sufficiently that I can use the rifle normally. I was actually at the range a few days ago and fired 45 shots with no issues.

Remington 700 extractor damaging my cases?

Yep, not til tomorrow though. My rifle was made in 2012, and has the clip type extractor.

Remington 700 extractor damaging my cases?

I've been having a problem with my new Remington SPS Varmint in .308, and after a bit of googling found a thread here which seems to describe my problem exactly. https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/extractor-damaging-my-cases.751996/ I took it back to the shop a couple of days ago...

Hunting with an AR15 type rifle?

Thanks for the replies everyone. Sounds like .308 is a better bet. TimSr, yes we can own and practice with them here in Denmark. As far as I know there are no checks on if you actually take them abroad to hunt with. Sage5907, I've never been to Borholm myself, but I've heard it's nice (I have...

Hunting with an AR15 type rifle?

A few of my local gunshops gave started stocking AR15 type rifles (so far only in .223), and I quite fancy getting one. There is a slight snag though. Here in Denmark I can only own a semi auto rifle with detachable magazine for hunting overseas. I know that these are used by a few hunters...

Filling the 6.5mm hole in my life

I hear good things about the .260 Remington, but have no experience with it at all. I do however own three rifles in 6.5x55, and have been very happy with their performance.

    Breeding rabbits

I think it depends on a number of factors, but one of the main ones (at least in Europe) is myxomatosis. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myxomatosis

What can my No. 1 Mk. 3 be converted to?

No drill mounts for the Enfield are available. One of those should let you mount a scope without damaging the rifle.

    A modern Destroyer carbine?

Don't/didn't Remington offer their model 700 in .44 Magnum? Wouldn't that fit the bill pretty well too?

    Famas info

I don't have much experience with it, but I had a bit of range time with the French troops, and we got the opportunity to use each other's weapons, when I was in Kosovo. I found it quite accurate and easy to use. The built in bipod is a nice touch too. I think it was a lot more complicated to...

    Odd rifle at dunhams sports.

It will kick more than your 20g. If you want a soft shooting milsurp rifle, a Swedish Mauser, or Norwegian Krag (both in 6.5x55) may be better (though somewhat more expensive!).

First time mounting a scope, have questions.

I use the blue Loctite. I'm not really sure that it's necessary, but better safe than sorry!

Remington 783 compared to other budget rifles?

The only one on your list that I've tried is the Savage Axis, which is badly let down by it's stock. I had a look at a 783 at my local gun shop a few months back, and it didn't do anything for me. It may be a good performer, but I really don't like the molded sling swivels and trigger guard...

    Winchester SXP

Unless I'm mistaken these are made for Winchester in Turkey. Any decent local gunsmith should be able to do it for you (and probably for less than it would cost you to ship it to Winchester).

    Tag soup

I got two bucks this year, but nothing last year. So I know the feeling! How does the tag system work? One deer per tag? If so can hunters apply for more once they've filled their tag?

Is it possible to ship a rifle to Ireland?

It is probably possible, but the costs involved may mean that it's not worthwhile. Unless the rifle has some sentimental value, it may just be a better bet to buy one in Ireland.

Winchester got a new rifle coming out early next year.

I look forward to seeing some 'real world' reviews on it on the forums when it becomes generally available. I quite like the look of it, and am interested to see what it will retail for here in Europe (typically 2x or more than the US price).
