    30-30 and Pistol Powder

I’ve used Blue Dot with 110gr Carbine bullets as well as with 165gr lead bullets. It works well. OP didn’t say what weight bullet he was looking to load.

    Beholla pistol 7.65

Thanks for the input. I think mine is an early Stenda, before they adopted the rotating latch pin. My first place to check was Numrich Gun parts but they didn’t have one. Struck out on gun broker and eBay as well. Hoping to find someone with one to cut down on the trial and error. The search...

    Working up a load - Uberti .45

I don’t think I would trust those questionable sources. I’ve got a Uberti Cattleman and have loaded mine up with 250gr MBC RNFP and up to 8.0gr of Unique @ 1.585”. That gave me 844 FPS out of my 4.5” barrel. I thought the Regulator was a birds head grip Cattlemen with a different hammer. If I...

    Beholla pistol 7.65

Anyone else out there have a vintage Beholla pistol. I picked one up over the weekend and upon disassembly, discovered the barrel pin is missing. Someone had jammed a screw in there. Anyhow, trying to find the diameter and length of the pin. Thanks!

    Colt 22 Pistol & Target Model CC5140

I picked one up over the weekend for $309 at my local Cabelas Gun Library. Seemed like a decent deal, came with 2 mags which work with my Targetsman. The mags alone are now worth $80 on gun broker. You can buy cheap Beretta Neos mags ($25) and they work in the Cadet with no modifications (but do...

    Blue dot in 357 mag

Blue Dot is a top powder for 10mm with 155gr to 180 gr bullets. Get a little more umph than with Power Pistol. Also handy for reduced loads in numerous rifle calibers with extreme caution. I go thru a few cans per year. I hope they don’t discontinue it.

    Power Pistol for .40 S&W and 10mm

Power Pistol is a great powder for both 40 S&W and 10mm. It can deliver on the velocity but is a very loud and flashy powder. Most people will be using it to push plated or jacketed bullets vs. lead due to the potential for leading at 40 S&W and 10mm speeds if the hardness and sizing isn’t perfect.

7.62x39 load data - all over the place!

I’ve worked loads using 123gr Nosler BT and compared them with factory loads from WPA, Hornady, Prvi, etc. All data out of a 16” Radical Firearms AR. 1,080’ above sea level, 83 degrees. 123gr Nosler BT, 2.200”, 25.5gr AA1680 gave 2,280 FPS 26.0gr AA1680 gave 2,310 FPS 26.5gr AA1680 gave 2,348...

    125-grain .308 loads?

I've used that bullet out of my 8.5" 300 Blackout. That load was only going 2,000 fps and it dropped 2 hogs without either taking another step. 1 at 92 yards and the other at 52 yards. I would shoot for 2,500 fps. That is my mild load using the 125gr BT out of my 30-06. Should be no problems...

    .45 LC question

45 Colt out of a Ruger Blackhawk / Redhawk / Super Redhawk can be loaded to 44 Mag levels, not that you need that much. Great all around load is 9.5-10gr of Unique and a 250gr hard cast bullet. I have (2) 44 Mags and (2) 45 Colts, either will get the job done. A 6" in either one and you'll be...

Hornady Lock N Load Auto-Progressive Reloading Press

I haven't gotten to the point where I am faster on my Hornady LNL press than I am on my Lee Turret. I like the Lee Turret, $8 for caliber conversion and the powder thru die/expander beats the hell out of using the Hornady PTX system. Maybe it is just me, but I have both presses and I find that...

    9mm AR build question

I'm running a Spikes Tactical ST-9X 9mm stainless steel buffer I got off AimSurplus for $50. It runs flawless with all my rounds, from 90gr JHP to 165gr subsonics. I'd suggest picking up a dedicated 9mm buffer.

    30-30 Trailboss

Up until about 2 months ago, I hadn't seen Trailboss in 3+ years, so I switched over to Blue Dot for my light loads using 150gr Xtreme plated flat nose or 110gr Xtreme Plated round nose carbine bullets. Surprisingly, the 110gr carbine bullets shoot a little better (tighter group, perhaps even...

    30-30 Trailboss

My Marlin 336SS shoots reduced recoil loads with the Xtreme 150gr plated FN bullet fairly well. The downside is having to adjust the scope. About 4" low at 40 yards. That's a lot of click counting :) Surprisingly, it shoots their 110gr carbine bullet even better, into a enlarged hole at 40 yards.

    45 colt

+1 for Unique. I load the 225gr .451" Xtreme Plated FP bullet. The .001" doesn't seem to matter. Shoots very well.

    64 gr.P.P,or 70 gr.Speer? Whitetail

I worked up a load from 24.5gr of Varget up to 26.0gr of Varget (Max) in my 16" M&P AR15. They shot very well. The max charge yielded 2,907 FPS, (1,314 ft-lbs) which is pretty hot but I didn't see any swipes on the brass. I did load mine much longer than the Hodgdon data calls for. I loaded to...

    Squirrel season is in

Here in Ga, season opens in mid August. A little hot for me until late Sept, which is ok since I don't bow hunt. Season runs thru end of Feb, but best get them before Dec, after that, seems like the Hawks get them all!

What is the best defensive ammo for an LCP

I don't think any HP that expands in 380 will still get you 12" of penetration. Hence, why so many people that prefer penetration over expansion will choose FMJ in 380. I have gone with the Speer gold dots, but other good choices are made by Buffalo Bore and as you mentioned, Hornady XTP...

    Hunting Projectiles for 300 BLK

A couple of observations. 1) You probably won't come close to 2,300 fps with the 125gr bullet. Out of my Ruger American bolt action with 16" barrel, I get 2,180 fps and that is slightly over max published data using H110. 2) Both the 125gr SST and Nosler BT are rated down to 1,800 fps. 3)...

Suggest a varmint bullet for 357 mag.

How about a gas checked soft lead HP. The best I know of come from Rimrock bullets and are used in Buffalo bore 38 Specials. Driven at 357 velocities they would expand very well. http://rimrockbullets.net/top-shelf-bullets/gas-checked-cast-lead-bullets/g-ch-38spc-357mag-158-gr-swc-hp-per-100.html
