Well lets' see.
In this order;
Enfield MK II NO IV .22lr trainer
Norinco TU 33/40 22lr trainer,looks like a 98 Mauser
Mossberg 151M(b) 22lr
What .22lr shortage/
Not soured at all.
I've bought 3 .22 rifles in the past month. That give me somewere between 25 -40 .22 rifles and pistols
Every gun shop in my area has .22 ammo around $.08 per round.
Come on warm weather!
Your JC Higgins was made by High Standard.
Standard .22 rings won't work on your dove tails.
The rails on your gun are to small
There are split rings that will work but i can't recall the makers' name.
Go to Rimfire central and look in the High Standard forum,all the info you need is there!
I own two 341-p's so i'll take a crack at your problem.
First,did you or anyone else take the carrier out of the rifle? The reason i ask is the first time you do this is most people don't notice the carrier spring plunger and small spring that fall out of the left side of the carrier wall...
I have the same model. Made in 1925 85-90%. Non original grips. Great shooter!
One thing to check if you haven't already,make sure you don't have carry over in the cyclinder . Mine did,had to have the bolt stop and rebound lever replaced. Locks up like a Colt should now.
I got one when they first came out. Lots of stovepipes and jams!
But the funniest thing that happened,if you can call it that,was after i had about 2000 rds threw it and was shooting it and the barrel bushing broke sending it and the guide rod and spring down range!
Took me 15 minutes to...
In the last few months i got these;
Colt OMT from 1925
Walther PP.22lr non import with nickel finish
Dan Wesson Model 22 with 4 and 6 inch barrels,Monson made
High Standard 103 Citation
Winchester 9422 XTR with Win-Cam stock
Remington 341-P
Now i'm broke but happy!
The priginal finish on Mossbergs,except US Property rifles was a lacquer topcoat with a toner added to it. If you take lacquer thinner and slop it on and wipe it off with clean rags you will see what the color of the wood really is under all that grime. Get a rattle can of Mini-Wax Lacquer...
P-32,i heard somewhere that Winchesters are for collecting and Remingtons are for shootin.:D:D I'd love to have a 61,can't find one in my price range.
Beagle,i gave $250 for it. Didn't look like this when i got it!!!
It's an old Weaver B-6. i have a couple of em. Thanks for the compliment on the restoration. No sanding of the wood,wiped off old lacquer with lacquer thinner and put on new lacquer finish.
