I loaded 6 with 7gr Herco to try in my chopped 5" 1950 S&W 255gr .452 SWCBB seated to the crimp groove but not crimped. I tried them in the old wheelie without clips. The recoil was strong but not brutal and the cases came out easily with a finger nail. These were a little more robust than I was...
I have used 2400 in the .38spl for a long time. 11gr and any 150 to 170gr swc as long as it is designed to not have too much inside the case. I recently tried VV N-110 as well I started at 10, 10.5 and finally settled on 11gr. I shoot these from a M15-3 and a Ruger LCR. I don't always use this...

6gr PP and a machine cast swcbb makes a good all around load. Back in the day I used the Keith load with the 454424 cast at 263gr from WWs in all kings of WWI revolvers in cluding a .455 MKII with a shaved cylinder. Not a good idea as those didn't have heat treated cylinders..........
I loaded a few .38/spl with N110 this last week. I loaded 10gr under 358 swc and tried it. Then I loaded some on 10.5 and 11gr. fired them all in a LCRX and a S&W M15-3. primers looked good and empties dribbled from chambers with a shake or a light touch of the extractor rod. I have used 2400...
