Opinions on the Steiner Predator binocs?

I got a pair of demo ones from the folks at SWFA. They're light and the image is clear. I paid $150 for them. The only thing I don't like about them is the eyepiece cover: it works, but it can be a bit tricky to put on.

    how do you carry concealed?

I like the Comp Tac C-TAC for my Kahr K9. It's about the same size as your Firestorm. It's tuckable so you don't need a cover garment. I use this same holster for IDPA and it's held up nicely to countless presentations. A J frame in a pocket holster is good in t-shirt and shorts weather...

    C-TAC tips

Moleskin is exactly what I used on mine. It works fine.

I know we don't need another Firefly thread

Kaylee, Did anything ever come of your project to create a functional version of Mal's sidearm? It's such a neat looking firearm that it really ought to exist. :)

    Kahr T9 maintenance

Two things that should make your life easier: Get a takedown block from Kahr. This holds the slide at exactly the right position to take out the slide stop. It may not fit GVMan's T9 but it will fit your K9. Use a Sharpie to push out the slide stop. The bottom of a Sharpie is just...

    H&R Pardner?

I just picked up a 20 gauge heavy barreled model (Ultra Slug Hunter). It's accurate (five shots make a one ragged hole at 25 meters) and recoil isn't too bad. It's certainly worth the $150 I paid for it. My only complaint is the price of the ammo: $2/shot for the good stuff!

Looking for a recommendation for an online seller of handgun magazines

Kahr sells direct to the public. They have an online store are http://www.kahrshop.com/. They're a bit pricey, though. I bought stuff from them with no problems. DNR Sports has mags a bit cheaper and are frequently recommended over at the Kahr forum on GlockTalk. I have no first hand...

    "Mastering the Defensive Snub Revolver"

I took the class at Harvard Sportsmen's Club a couple of months ago. It was well worth the price of admission. There are some snubbie specific things that I would expect to get either glossed over or omitted in most defensive pistol courses. "Don't get greedy!"

Got my hands on the new .45 from Kahr.

From my Kahr's manual: So, not an outright prohibiition, just a caution.

    The right way to gun-control.

What is the world coming to that a man would feel the need to give his daughter a rifle like that? He should give her something much more appropriate for her age: an AR with iron sights. Once she's got the fundamentals down then he can put a red dot on the rifle. :)

    642 or 442

The 442 has a steel cylinder; the 642 has a stainless cylinder. They're both alloy frames finished in black and silver respectively. I have no idea why a 442 sells for more.

    642 or 442

    642. I prefer stainless for carry, especially in a location that will see some sweat.

    Kahr P9 Reliability?

They polished the feed ramp, replaced the slide stop, and replaced the trigger group. I'm pretty sure the slide stop was the problem: the rounds would nosedive and jam, leaving some jacket material on the slide stop. I think the part that engages the button on the mag follower was a bit too...

    Snubby Revolver Class

Briefly, he doesn't switch hands while using a speedloader. It makes sense to me (and that's how I did it anyway before I took his class). He has a number of other refinements on reloading designed to keep things as fumble-free as possible. He also has a good method for weak hand only...

    Kahr P9 Reliability?

I have two K9s: the first one is an older model that wouldn't reliably feed Gold Dots. After a trip to Kahr it's been fine. I have about 1000 rounds through that one. I just had my first malfunction with my other K9 after about 3500 rounds. I somehow managed to shove my left thumb into...

    .357 Magnum Revolvers

That's a fine revolver. You've got the closest thing to a general purpose handgun there is. .357 magnum is essentially a lengthened .38 special case. It has more powder in the case, shoots the bullet faster, and needs a stronger gun. You can shoot .38 specials from a .357 but not vice...

What U.S. immigrant groups are most likely to own guns?

I'm doing my best to keep the Scots' average up there. :) Time to get a bigger safe!

How to Break in a Kydex Holster?

You can loosen the allen screws to decrease the tension. If loosening the screws won't do it give Comp-tac a call. I've found their customer service to be first rate.

Trials and Tribulations of a Massachusetts Handgun Owner

gripper, It's only legal if they are pre-ban, since Massachusetts still has its own version of the AWB in effect. So if you drive up to NH and buy a nice new 17 round magazine you become a felon as soon as you cross back into Mass. Just because a dealer sells it doesn't mean it's legal...

    Kahr Polymer Lower Problem

The Kahr web site shows the relative location of the parts. When I swapped out the trigger on my K9 (whick looks to have the same trigger arrangement as your Kahr) I assembled the trigger, spring, and spacer and carefully held the assembly horizontal while putting it into the frame. I then...
