Suit up with 5 mags. You will need them all. Ask me how I know this ;) Oh, and don't get too caught up in trying to "win, place or show". Enjoy yourself and have a great time!

Teaching the next generation to shoot

I taught my daughter to shoot at the age of 12. And she and the son-in-law are anxious to teach their daughter. It will be a few years, since she is only 2 1/2. AND, pappy has already put back a rifle for her :D

I can not really tell you where to find a like counter. Sorry! This one was removed from one of our OBI press, during an upgrade to digital controls and counter. I suggest a search at McMaster Carr or MSC Industrial Supply. Hope this helps!

Springfield XDm 40 good & bad

The only complaint about my 40 XDm is the large grip. Even with the small insert, it is large for my hand. Keep in mind, shooting hand loads will void the warranty on a Glock. They will not repair it if something breaks.

    Preventing Primers on the floor

I cut a notch in my bench, recessed the press, and hold a small plastic container in place with a metal clip. One will still get away every once in a while. You can view pics of my installation in the Lee Pro 1000 thread.

what difference does brass length make?

What type of ammunition are we talking about here? You didn't mention what type of case. Rimless straight wall is the only type where case length determines head space.

How do you carry your spare mag?

None, when carrying concealed. If I haven't stopped my attacker before the mag is empty, I'm probably going to die anyhow :(

Whats the minimum acreage in your county

Nothing like that here in the Buckeye state either. If your neighbor (in the country, of course) calls the sheriff and complains about gun fire a deputy may join you on your range. Seriously, it has happened!

best case trimmer for the money?

I recommend avoiding any trimmer that requires shell holders or plates. For example, the Hornady CamLock is a good machine. I have one. However, only Hornady shell holders will work. A Lyman, with their patented chuck, will chuck up pretty much any size case. Not that I am recommending it. I...

I too am a proud Pro 1000 owner. She is finicky to set up but, once there good to go. Fast loading machine, with bullet feeder. Problem: bullet feeder starts its upward motion before it has extended all the way under the seating die (40 caliber, 180 grain bullet). Solution: I clipped a...

    .40S&W Brass Question

Tiny dents are common, but 1/8"? That sounds HUGE to me. Not to change the subject but, I suggest you check case length on that once-fired brass (a good set of dial calipers are a must for the reloading bench, since you are just starting out). For some reason the ammunition manufacturers...
