"Radically Invasive Projectiles" (RIP) -- good or bad idea?

who knows, they might be highly effective. I forget where i saw some clear gelatin tests, and those reflected a dispersion of petals I would NOT want occuring in my body. Witholding judgement since i lack data

    AK vs Mini 14

for $640 you could go with a brand new Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Sport AR-15. Smashes through the typical ROI at that price point. If not that, I'd go with A yugo or polish non-century sporter AK. THe mini14 is a neat gun, but has a bit of history of niggling issues. As for bans, a mini won't...

How Many Guns Are Enough ?

there are NEVER enough. I don't feel one pang of guilt for spending as much as i do on guns, they NEVER lose their value, so as i see it, they're wonderful investments.

where to search for older, used .375 H&H ?

Malamute: you have done that rifle a great service! What a stunner! and to reflect all of your hard work, that really makes it special. Dr. Rob: hahhah oh touche. Yes, BIG time expensive cartridges, and must be considered. I actually plan to play around with hand loads for it, so once i get...

where to search for older, used .375 H&H ?

Greetings, I'm in the process of attempting to add a .375H&H chambering to my collection, but the cz550 i would like is just more money than i want to spend right now. I know this cartridge has been around for quite awhile, so there should be quite a few used old hunting rifles out there...

text file that is in a directory backed up daily (to multiple mediums & locations) in addition to the text file, i have a directory with pics of all the guns, and the serial number placed in the picture w/ photoshop, as well as inserted into the photo EXIF data. This directory is zipped and...

Would you rather have 15 round of 9mm, or 8 rounds of 45 in your carry gun

location location location Ill take the 9mm since i shoot it better than .45 , and paperwise, it's "better" to have more rounds. Still, impact location is key and ultimately most important

What is the biggest firearm flop you have ever seen

I love the COP 357!! The AMT Backup in .45 was pretty not great Regarding the Chiappa Revolver, I love the way they look! The low bore would have to make muzzle flip non-existent. I've not fired one yet. The internals look like a Rube Goldberg machine

    Biggest cartridge flops ...

I remember following the life cycle of the .327 Federal Magnum. Man, when the hype was in on that cartridge, it was a supermega ultra rockstar. Still seems like a neat cartridge to me. As a reloader, odd cartridges are fun :) How about the .444 Marlin ? Not sure if it flopped but I don't...

This is what we're up against

I LOL'ed at the gyrojet comment. Sigh. See, this is exactly why people without experience should not be taken seriously when it comes to policy.

Illinois proposes allowing medical pot users to keep guns

the federal/state/4473/licit/illicit thing is definitely a mess. I suspect we will see some sort of action to place cannabis in CII or CIII DEA classification; that would at least rectify the overarching illicitness of a CI classification vs. state law permission. just tax the heck out...

    DOJ "smart gun" review

LOL, these smart gun technologies are good for a chuckle. as long as they don't actually get footing that is, now that would be bad. It shows time and again, people taht have no clue how guns work and don't have experience, are useless (and worse) when it comes to setting policy.

Illinois proposes allowing medical pot users to keep guns

why wouldn't they let them keep their guns ? We let people imbibe and keep their guns, and we all know just how out of control a drunk person can be physically and emotionally. Marijuana doesn't cause even a fraction of the trouble alcohol does. Glad to see they're getting in front of...

    Kel Tec rant

Glockmeister in Mesa, AZ has a PMR-30 and a KSG for MSRP; at least they did last Tuesday. I bought two Sub2000 (Glock .40S&W config) under MSRP back in 2011. Lucked out on that one. One for me, one for dad. P32 ubiquitous, at least they once were ? Bought that under MSRP back in 2010...
