    Shucks, missing deer season

Well, that sucks. I have 5 stents, 3 the first time when I was 39 and 2 more 2 yrs ago at 50. Good news is recovery time is pretty quick and you will feel much much better afterwards. The first time they went thru the groin, second was wrist. I recommend the wrist if you have a choice. First...

    Rifle/Shotgun Sling Holder

I have went to using Slogan slings. No problems with slippage with any gun anymore. Best sling I have ever used. https://www.sloganoutdoors.com/slings

    Zero thermal scope

I have used hand warmers, and also a nail heated with a small propane torch. I have my own land to shoot on though, don't think either method would fly with a public indoor range.

    350 legend for deer hunting

I bought a CVA Cascade 350 last year. I could not be happier with it. Shoots much better than I do. A sample of one doe indicates it is a great deer round. It will be my main rifle this year as well.

    My modern day woods carbine

I like the 350. In a sample of one, it got the job done for me last season, nice doe, ran mebbe 30 yds. I have a bolt gun CVA Cascade that I used and really like. Also have an AR pattern that shoots very well too. It may get my youngest back into hunting, as he is starting to build AR's and...

    Dogs on our hunting property

The collars are what has kept them alive. Obviously they are someone who cares about them's pets. There are several homes close to our property. If they ever acted agrressively to me or the grandkids or my dogs then collar or no they would have to go. I have had this one save a couple three...

    Dogs on our hunting property

This guy shows up regularly on our property. Along with another with same radio collar. I get several notifications weekly on my security cams around the cabin. Never comes close when we are there. Also several cats. If you zoom in on the below pic it looks like he has one of the cats in...

    Uberti Listened

I don't see where using a better quality screw would add $100 to the price of a firearm. The cost on the wholesale side would be tiny. Why should a consumer have to struggle with removing screws? Yes, I know about tapping with a hammer, and I have extractors. It's a pain in the keester. Just...

    Uberti Listened

I have new Uberti Cattlemen and a copy of the '73 Winchester. The screws SUCK. Soft as butter and some are so damn tight they wont' come out without stripping the heads. Pretty frustrating.

    Holsters For Hunting

A chest rig is by far the most convenient and comfortable woods carry option for me. I really like Alien Gear's offerings.

    2021 Hunting Picture Thread

Very impressed with it. Accuracy is good, no recoil to speak of, carries and handles well for me and has no problem putting a deer down. It has moved into my primary deer rifle position for Ohio. I still love my 45/70 Marlin lever gun, and 450 Bushmaster AR pattern, but really like the CVA.

    2021 Hunting Picture Thread

Just to clarify, "nothing special" meaning she was an average doe for my area. I am thoroughly pleased and thankful for the harvest, she is quite tasty and will provide many more meals. I don't hunt horns at all, and truth be told for eating I prefer a nice doe.

I also put a pair of elastic laces on mine, the ones that you don't have to tie/untie. Easiest on and off for a boot ever.

Euro Mounts for an outside corner?

Can't add anything to your search for a mount, but that is a pretty cool looking deer. I like unusual.

    2021 hunting gear review.

I have a pair of Merrels that are pretty much the same thing. Fantastic comfortable daily wear boots. I wear them for everything, work, outdoors etc. Only time I don't wear them in the woods is when it is really cold, I get cold feet very easily and there is nothing worse than cold feet...

    Hand Warmers: Shelf Life?

In my experience the old ones just don't work at all. Opened a bag up yesterday that was bought sometime in November of '21 and not one of them worked. Had a feeling they would be dead as they were all stiff and hard. They have to be soft, pliable and powdery for them to work anytime I have...

    2021 hunting gear review.

Tried a new knife this year, Outdoor edge RazorPro. Always thought they were a gimmick, but man did this thing impress me. The gutting blade made opening up the abdomen and up the legs for skinning easier than any other blade I have ever used. The replicable main blade worked like a champ...

What rifles for deer hunting this year?

Well, due to a number of things did not get to leave for the cabin until Sat am. Got there and the generator would not start, so we had to pull it out of the steel security box we have (so we can leave it out and not have to drag it out and hook it up every time we go) and install the back up...
