Ever motorcycle with a rifle on your back?

Well there is that too ;) But seriously, the bike gets 60mpg (WRX), the truck gets 20ish. Pretty sure I could strap it to the saddlebag mounting bars on my VTX1800 (off in pic)... but on my WR250X though, there would be just about nowhere to put it but my back, or since the gun is so small, my...

Boston Herald: "Fisherman reels in handgun" Can anyone here ID it?

Took the police 40 minutes to figure out it was a plastic toy... fail... Does explain why it was floating high enough to be caught with that kind of bait though.

Ever motorcycle with a rifle on your back?

1894 carbine in stainless so its rather short and weather resistant. I don't think it would get hit by anything at all on my back other than a couple bugs. If I were routinely getting pelted by rocks, dirt, and mud, I probably wouldn't get back on a motorcycle ;) I didn't think of the gun sock...

Ever motorcycle with a rifle on your back?

Just wondering. My favorite shooting place is quite far away and I prefer to take one of my bikes as they get much better mileage. I generally leave my guns out there but one of my friends has taken an interest in my favorite rifle... and frankly I don't want him touching it. Its in pristine...

Gun show tips, tricks, and advice.

+1 on the smartphone. I am so spoiled that I NEVER buy anything that costs over $100 before making sure I can't get it cheaper online. I would be steaming if I bought a gun for 300 at a gun show and found it for $120 at randomonlinegunshop when I got home.

    Hornady FTX in .357

What powder? Hogdon lists the starting load with the 140GR XTP for H110 to be 17.1 grains and 1836 fps, the max 19 at 1997 fps. I figured the FTX would be about the same.

    Hornady FTX in .357

Decided to use the ol .357 this year for deer since I haven't had any luck getting the .500 to group and the .357 can read your mind no matter the ammo you feed it and shoot a fleas nuts off (1894C). I'm going to work a load up on my own but I'm mostly wondering if anyone experienced any...

My first Squib load - not a fun time

I'm interested in seeing the results of that.

Has reloading saved you money (casting excluded please)

When I bought a .500 S&W, I bought all of the supplies I would need to load about 500 rounds (depending on brass life), single stage press and dies included, for less than the price of 100 rounds. Yes I would say I saved some money. $3+ per bullet for factory ammo gets you there fast!. For my...

    loading the 500 S&W

You want insane recoil? why lol. It is possible to get in to the realm of pain and physical damage. Anyhow, if this doesnt give you your fix, they make a 45-70 derringer. That oughta do it.

    Quirks to Gas Checked Bullets?

New Winchester .500 S&W brass with a Matts Bullets 460 grain .501 LFN-GC (Ranger Rick Bullet). Unrelated but working up a load starting at 33 grains of W296 up to 36 grains in half grain increments. Magnum primers.

    H110 v. MP-300

I would love to see some real world data from someone. Would really really love a fps vs pressure comparison. I think the general consensus though is you can get around Lil'Gun velocities + or - a bit, but ive heard its not as hard on the forcing cone? I dunno though havent heard anything...

    Quirks to Gas Checked Bullets?

Ok, I just wanted to check before I shot em. Didn't know if having the bullet held so tight would increase pressure. I assume the canted bullet isn't safe and ill need a kinetic puller to reclaim the over priced brass later?

    Quirks to Gas Checked Bullets?

I had a set amount I was belling the case mouths for my straight lead bullets. When I started trying to load gas checked bullet (which I am new to) they shaved lead like crazy. I think one even went in a bit crooked. I can't tell but im not firing it. After one or two I went back and...

    2000ftlbs of M.E. from .44mag, possible?

See thats my problem with FPE limits. A light bullet at that fpe won't go deep enough to do much on a big critter. Something like... say... a weak 55 grain .243 load. So they say too weak! even though 400 grainer at 1400fps in a 45-70 would get the job done.

    2000ftlbs of M.E. from .44mag, possible?

Thats gonna be hard from a 12 inch barrel. Buffalo bore sells some they claim is 1950fpe but that is from a 18.5 inch Marlin. Its too bad your government thinks deer are armored and doesn't understand bullet diameter and momentum. Here it is state by state and a lot of states are even worse off...

    "INHERITED 357mag RELOADS"

Why not weigh every cartridge and see if they are relatively consistent with each other and consistent with what is written on the box?

Mental Health and Firearms Ownership, what do you think?

Since I have a degree in psych I will say, let the doctors decide. Even within any disorder there is a range of severity so it is a very person to person thing. Take two people with the same disorder, one might be so bad they have to be hospitalized often and they have no real life to speak of...

    Hazmat fees

Wonder if a company could package powder in a brass bottle with a copper lid and a primer in the bottom to get around the fee ;) Its the new screw top large caliber ammo
