I have spent a fair amount of money on custom building a .22
Roughly $1500.00 spent on trigger, stock, barrel scope and other assorted parts fo one one my Ruger 10/22's.
I guess that I might be considered less then fanatical but If I can keep my 50 yard groups to 1 inch I'm satisfied. In...
I owned an R-15 for about a year. It is a good accurate rifle (I had the 22 inch barreled model with the non adjustable stock). The R-15 is strictly a .223 chambered rifle. Mine had the 1 in 9 twist and although I only shot 55 grain ammo but it was extremely accurate with it. The only real...
A quick update. I went to a local FFL dealer here and walked out with my new Golden Boy 20 minutes later. It’s been 9 days now since I applied at Dicks and still never got a call back from them. They have lost me as a customer for good.
A few weeks ago I got a $50.00 Coupon from Dicks Sporting goods towards any hunting related items. I decided that I wanted to get a new Henry Golden boy and so I stopped there and filled out the government paperwork. I was told that I was put on 3 day delay and so 4 days later I went there to...
Try moving to Westchester county if possible and then you can at least bring your long guns. The pistols you would have to get a permit for but at least you can eventually get to keep them.
I live in Dutchess County and wouldn't live in NYC or it's Bouroughs for any amount of money.
I guess I'll go against the flow on this one. I have had several Ruger 10/22's and now own an AR with a CMMG .22 conversion kit. I find that using the AR with .22 ammo keeps my shooting form correct so that if and when the SHTF comes to pass I will be fully ready to take it to the limit. The...
The R-15 with the non collapsible stock is totally legal in NY (I know since I bought one from Dicks last year).
Any AR is legal in NY State (not in the city) as long as it does not have a flash hider (but you can have a Muzzle Brake that has been permanently pinned and welded), a bayonet...
I know all about spending money.
The 10/22 I built I invested over $1500.00. I wish I would have kept it but it paid for my AR15
Itis still one of the banner guns on Rimfire Central.
You might consider an Aimpoint with a 3X or 5X magnifier. I have that setup on my AR and it works well out to about 300 yards, I also have a Weaver Classic V24 6-24X42 scope but I only use the magnified scope for longer range target shooting.
I had a Remington R-15 and it was a fine rifle but I soon dicovered that I not only didn't really like the idea of the Camo but it wasn't really all that I had originally thought I wanted in an AR. I sold it and went about looking into building one that was everything I had in mind. After...
Consider an Aimpoint M2 or M3 with a 3x or 5X magnifier. I went that route with the 5X with a quick disconnect mount from Primary Arms and it has worked perfectly for anything up to 200 yds which is as far as I have used it for. Anything farther I use a magnified scope (Weaver 6-24x42 Classic...
