I can understand that. What would be a hypothetical situation where you could carry a derringer, but could not carry one of the small KelTecs or an LCP? Is this where someone is supposed to challenge you to a derringer vs. small DAO duel? This is just silly.

I have a 1911 that had a little trouble with some magazines. Turned out that there was a slight burr on the frame and that made magazines come out slowly. A little filing and they shoot right out now.

To be fair, a block of wood with a pipe can still be loaded. It's an even chance not will hurt the shooter or the target, but even being very crude it can be dangerous. Personally, I wouldn't take the chance it's completely fake.
