Ooooohhhhh, so if I were a gangbanger and built this contraption with a piece of pipe it would be NFA. Since I'm planning on using a rifled barrel and not making an AOW or SBR out of it then I'll be cool as long as I follow all the other rules (no foregrip, etc.)
Makes sense...for the ATF anyway.
I want to make a single shot .22 pistol.
If I use an old .38 special revolver and put a barrel on it I assume it would be legal as the .38 started off as a firearm.
If I make something from scratch it is legal as I am the manufacturer and it always was a firearm.
What if..however.. I...
I've been wondering if it is possible to put a 4" barrel into my Kimber Ultra Carry I. If there is a barrel like that available, preferably ported, what would I be looking for? I don't know a whole lot about 1911's.
Was making an adjustment to my Redding 300WSM seater yesterday and I remembered a chart that I had seen once that showed the threading for different brands of seater dies. Does anyone know the location of something like this? I'd like to print it out and hang it up over my bench.
1 1/8 of 7 1/2 and 1 oz of 8's are the two I've been loading, was thinking about just doing a pile of the 7 1/2's to keep things simple. 6's seem a bit large for doves to me.
Couldn't find any info with a search. I just this year purchased a Franchi Alcione in 12 gauge and started reloading for it.
Planning on using modified and full chokes since we tend to have a little longer shots where I usually hunt at. What kind of loads are you all using?
Currently have a Bushnell Trophy 1.75-5x on my 1895G. Problem is that with some stouter 350 gr. loads the scope is coming back and just about hitting my eye. KInd of makes me nervous about loading up some full power 405's. Did anyone else have this problem and how did you fix it?
Just did two of my rifles last night with Marine-Tex gray. Some places say I can crack them apart between 1 day and 5 days. I've also found I can shoot them between 1 day and 10 days. What do you all do that works best for you?
I'd like to shoot them next Friday if I can but I'll wait longer...
Has anyone seen or heard anything about these? It's a portable shooting bench that weighs only 18 pounds. It's shown on the back cover of the Midsouth Shooters Supply catalog.
I was planning on building something (heavy) out of wood but this would be convenient if it's actually stable. Any...
Does anyone know how this is done? I'm getting an unfinished Stockade fiberglass stock in a few day. Any tips on how to prep it before painting?
thanks
I have the exact same scale as shown in that auction.
I tested it against several scales including the ones at work where we manufacture pharmaceuticals. It was dead on in grams but when it converts to grains the numbers don't come out right. Therefore I don't trust the thing at all.
If...
I have three reloading manuals and am getting conflicting answers. Should I use regular or large pistol primers for my .44 loads.
Guns are a 629 6 1/2" and a SRH 7 1/2"
Bullet for now if a Winchester 240 gr JHP.
I have a Lyman neck size die for my .270 that I got off of ebay. It didn't include any instructions. Do I just screw it down til it contacts the shell holder or does it go further?
thanks
Mr Murphy decisively wins the 'Best Answer' award hands down.
I laughed my ass off. However, I was filling Caldwell sandbags with a small filler spout and did eventually figure it out.
The correct answers are-
1- Use spoonfulls of sand which slide easily down the funnel.
2- When the...
Okay, there has to be an easy way and I'm missing it. I have 8 Caldwell bags to fill and I have managed to get about 2 teaspoons into one of the bags. I am using a funnel and an extension that was made from an empty .270 case.
thanks
My canera broke so I can't post a pic. It appears as though it would be the extractor peeling the case head back away from the rest of the case except there are no extractor marks and the damage is in two places opposite each other.
I'll try to come up with a camera if possible.
I have some once-fired (by me, in my rifle) Hornady/Frontier brass and my cartridge OAL went nuts on me. On closer inspection, on several of my cases the rim is bent in two places about 180 degrees apart.
All my other cases with the same prep are fine. The only differences are that I primed...
