    The Marlin 39 Club

Hello all. Just got my first 39 this past weekend. As a kid I could never seem to be able to afford one, and actually was really into handguns and centerfire rifles. I've shot them and liked them, but can't say I ever owned one. Life is a bit slower for me now, and a good .22 rifle seems like...

Do you carry a wheel gun ?

I carry an old Smith and Wesson pre-Model 37 from 1956-57 in a pocket holster. i get a kick out of carrying a gun that was made in the same year I was, lol. Sometimes I back it up with a 3 inch Model 36 on the ankle, sometimes its a Glock 19 carried IWB. But, the Airweight is always with me.

    2" Ruger SP101 DAO .357 Mag or 2" S&W M10 .38 Spl

Boulder, I've done both, and I'd be fine with either of them. But, my 2-inch Model 10 has a butter-smooth action, which my Ruger does not. I can shoot it without conscious thought and so for that reason, I'd go with the .38. But honestly, I think it would just come down to which one you shoot...

Which .38 special ammo for defense?

When I am on my own time, I tend to carry a couple of J-Frame Smiths, one a 2" Airweight in my trouser pocket, and the other an old 3" Model 36 on my ankle. So the question of what to put in them is important to me. Back in the old revolver days of police work, the department that I worked for...

    Best Budget 38 company?

I own a firearms training company set up for private citizens which maintains a supply of firearms at different price points for use by our students. The small 5-shot revolvers are very popular and therefore we have quite a few of them. Almost all were purchased used from a reputable dealer. Our...
