Let's have a candid conversation about GLOCKs.

Yeah, you're right on the trigger part. As someone who unchambered a round from a Glock after it was pointed in my face by a novice some 20 years ago, I agree. The best part of it was when I berated the idiot who only dropped the magazine before handing it over- he said something like: "The...

    Dilemma

So I've an S&W MP9 full size with 800 rounds through it. I've also an HK P2Kv3 with 400 rounds through it. I'm trying to decide what to do with the MP9 since the HK just feels better & with half the round count, it yields tighter groups- I think mostly due to the trigger. So what do I do...

    Worst shooting pistol ?

Erma Excam Rx22. Never slam-fired on me but I hardly ever shot it. Couldn't hit anything with it.

Your experience with the Smith and Wesson M&P series

I've an MP9 with 600 rds through it over the last few months. No problems of any kind in terms of reliability. The trigger leaves a little to be desired- it's a bit crunchy on the take-up but I'm used to an Anschutz 1813 so it's equally me.

Your thoughts on ccl before ability to operate firearm

Nice to meet you, AKElroy. According to the Census Bureau (2007) & FBI (2009), it's about the same as your state per capita. http://www.census.gov/compendia/statab/2010/tables/10s0297.pdf http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/cius2008/data/table_04.html I'll have to take a look at the articles by...

Your thoughts on ccl before ability to operate firearm

This is tantamount to sheer speculation but I ssume that since a greater number of folk stroll around unarmed (myself included) I don't think it's unreasonable to demand a certain a degree of proficiency if, as someone said, you're intent on packing a pocket-ful of violence... If you can't keep...

I am a progressive liberal - I think Obama is as leftist

I understand where you're going, Cyclops. We shouldn't renege on the duty to point out when someone strolls/falls down a slippery slope. The trick, I think, is what's reasonable- but that's something that needs (a lot of) work.

    Plato/Socrates/Aristotle quote

Socrates drank Hemlock, Hoss. Actually, it was politically motivated: Socrates had a tendency to make well-to-dos (poets, orators) look bad & Plato had an ax to grind.

I am a progressive liberal - I think Obama is as leftist

I think the point to this is that we need to concentrate on a reasonable defense of our rights to the 2nd amendment and that's only going to be secured through some moderation or (gasp) give & take. Is it reasonable to hunt quail with an MG42? Unlikely. Is it reasonable to defend your home...
