    Buttstock care

I have my first AR build going on, with an A2 buttstock I have installed on it. The trouble is the stock has a light color with a real rough texture to it. Is there a finish or coating I can put on this to darken it up a bit, and protect it? I was thinking gun oil (CLP) but wanted to ask...

    Cracked necks in 6.5 x 55 brass.

That doesnt look like a crack to me. That looks like a scratch from your dies. I would take your siziing dies apart and look to see if there isnt something there that would cause this. BTW, I am a newb at reloading, so take this with a grain of salt. Sean

    Rebarrel or punt?

I am trying to decide if my m96 6.5X55mm is worth the effort of rebarrelling and working the bolt and action over? My other thought is to sell it and fund an AR build. Any thoughts? I am not sure what to do. I like the 6.5X55mm cartridge, but sure could ennjoy an AR build and the 223...

Procedure for working up a load

I seated one of the bullets I was going to use and seated it to the max OAL listed I could find. I colored it with a marker, then chambered it, looking for the rifling marks. I didnt see any and I didnt want to make a round any longer than was recommended (plus thats about the max length my...

Procedure for working up a load

A couple days at the range and here is what I have found. After figuring out how to shoot from a bench, I am getting better at group sizing. Right now my smallest group is down to about 1 inch at 100 yds. I found two different weights of one powder that seemed like they were better than...

MidwayUSA shipping via USPS 1st Class

I am mad at midways shipping policy. I ordered a Lee Challenger Anniv Reloading kit. During the ordering process there is a block you can check saying whether you want a catalog or not. I checked it. Turns out the Relaoding kit was on backorder. No big deal, I can wait. What PO'd...

Procedure for working up a load

Dakotasin, This is exactly what I was looking for!! A process on how to work up loads, with lots of discussion. I am concerned with approaching max loads as my rifle is an old military rifle built a LONG time ago, so I do not plan on exceeding any loads published. That said, I will...

Procedure for working up a load

Let me preface this by saying I am a newb at reloading. I have a 6.5X55mm swedish built on an old swede M96 Mauser action. I am trying to work a load that will give me an inch or less at 100 yds. My process- Tumble brass, Decap and neck size (using a lee collet die and turning the case...
