I'm moving up there in January to go to school at EWU. They have a weapons lockup on campus so I wondered if it is worth it to take the SKS with me.
If anybody knows a spot I'd much appreciate it.
Thanks
Well the valve it at the top so I suspect that is my problem. I wish the thing came with a book but all I got was some kind of inspection manual that is not in English.
I have cleaned most of the cosmo out. I haven't broken it down yet, I guess I was in a hurry to shoot it, but once I get some...
SO I took the SKS out for the first time yesterday and it wasn't ejecting or reloading without me having to pull the bolt back.
Aren't these semi-autos?
Maybe I was mistaken.
Also, how can I adjust windage on the sights?
Thanks
Oliver
Hmm for some reason my posts aren't showing up....
Anyway.
I'm in Vancouver and I go to the English Pit right now. Its not great but it works.
I was reading up on cleaning the cosmoline off and there was mention of a good solvent. What is a good one to try? I have one called Metal...
Thanks.
I don't plan on using it for hunting I don't think. I'm not a hunter now but if I do decide to give it a shot I'll look into something else. I'll be sure to consult the board here for info...
It looks like those stripper clips, or whatever you want to call them, are readilly available...
Today I picked up a *NEW* Yugo SKS.
Its got a bayonett and the ever-handy grenade launcher. It seems to be in excellent condition and all the serial #s match.
Just thought I'd let y'all know.
Now I just need to pick up some ammo and 30 or 40 round clips and I'll be all set.
Later.
Oliver
I feel your pain here in WA. Apparantly, though, here in Clark County we went Bush.
I'm still awaiting word on our Gov race. Last I heard the Rep. Dino Rossi is leading. He'd be the 1st GOP gov in 24.years. >fingers crossed<
Isn't it ironic that the socialists and communists get to be...
I'd thought about getting one. I really want kind of a fun semi-auto to take to the range once in a while. Something with a little more punch than a .22.
I've read that SKSs are pretty reliable and have loads of interchangable parts.
Apparantly they are fairly affordable for a buyer on a...
All quiet on the western front
Only thing I've noticed is an abundance of overly aggressive drivers sporting JohnJohn stickers who seem to dislike my GWB sticker.
Though they seem to back off once they notice the NRA logo just below.
Imagine that
Great thanks. I'm in Vancouver (Near Portland) so I'll deff have to check it out.
I'm planning to transfer to EWU in January and I'm pretty sure they won't allow any firearms in dorms...I guess it's gonna be apt. hunting for me 'cause there's now way I'm sharing walls with God-knows-who...
Hey there.
My dad is the one planning on getting some kind of handgun and his conceled weapons permit in the near future and I like the idea for myself too.
I haven't checked out the application process yet but any knowledge or experiences from other Washington State residents would be...
Not a Brit Basher
Now I never intended to bash the Brits. Like I said in another post, I am one myself. I respect their military history to the highest degree. Hell, my own grandfather fought with the Gurkhas in North Africa and Burma.
I also have the utmost respect for Tony Blair for...
There's a little piece on page 134 of this month's American Hunter about the Manchester (England) city council using taxes to train citizens to treat gunshot wounds!!
This is in response to that nation's exploding crime rate following the near ban on privately owned firearms...
Its Europe...go figure
I was born in the UK and am proud my dual (US & UK) citizenship but it is things like this that make me love THIS country. I like visiting England but I'd never live there. Can you imagine living in a place where the fighters have no firearms? It boggles the mind.
But...
About what I said
In MY experience, many of the so-called intellectuals at this college are unwavering in their communist views.
Take a certain world civ teacher. He has a picture of LENIN on his office door and spent entire classes explaining how Mao was the "hero" of the revolution in China...
