    Snubbies and Fine Leather

I always liked this one for J Frame OWB. I don't own one though. Blackhawk Speed Classic

    Model 10 .357 conversion

I have an older Model 10 police trade-in that is in rough shape that I was thinking about doing some sort of customization to. I read somewhere that S&W made a limited run of the Model 10-6 in .357 before releasing the Model 13. That got me wondering if it would be possible to have a smith...

    Worst-case concealed carry scenario?

Our laws don't specifically mention banks per se, but you are not allowed to carry on any private property where a sign prohibiting it has been posted, which most all banks do.

    Worst-case concealed carry scenario?

In VA it is against the law to carry inside a place of worship during worship services. If you are at church for another function (non-worship) then it may be allowed as long as there are no signs posted stating otherwise. Just about every bank I have been to in the last 10 years has a "no...

why do all Smith & Wesson's have...

If I may pontificate here for a moment: This thread brings to the forefront what most anti-gun liberals love to say about gun owners: that we are all a bunch of uneducated rednecks. I especially have to give Grunt Medic some kudos for being so assertive in his incorrect reply, especially...

    Budget Revolver

Why would you need to shoot a man sized target at 50 meters with a handgun for defensive purposes? That would land you in jail in most states (unless you have a 50 meter span inside your house and you caught the guy breaking in). In either case, the snub nosed would be harder to shoot at...

    Taurus Snubbies

From my investigation, it seems as though quality on the older models was hit or miss. I have shot a couple of newer models and both were nice guns. I would put them a step below S&W and Ruger (but onlyt a small step). The fit and finish isn't quite as good (although I had problems with my...

    .22lr input

Hate to say this in the revolver forum, but the Ruger Mk series is pretty much the standard of .22LR pistols and what many other manufacturers have tried to copy over the years.

    Look at your SP101...

"...Now back to me, now back to your SP101, now back to me. Sadly your SP101 isn't me, but if it stopped using .38 specials and shot more .357s, then it could shoot like me..." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owGykVbfgUE Sorry - couldn't resist

    S&W J-Frame .38 Special or Ruger LCR?

Why didn't anyone suggest the new polymer S&W Bodyguard in .38 as a comparison to the LCR. It would be a more accurate comparison. Personally, I would get the J-Frame (but then again, I've already put my money where my mouth is).

    Midsize 9mm

The Glock 19 fills a niche between the full sized duty guns and the subcompacts that are out there. As with all things, it is a compromise, but it offers better handling & shootability (for me at least) when compared to the subcompacts while being easier to conceal than a full size. I...

My first time shooting a snubbie - a Ruger LCR.

While I've never shot an LCR, I have shot many snubbies, including some of the ultra light weight alloy Smith J frames weighing about the same as the LCR. I've put hundreds of rounds through my M&P340 in .38, +p, and .357 and I have never experienced the pain and blistering that you are...

    M&p 340

At one point in time I owned both a 442 and a M&P340. (The 442 has since found a new home, but the M&P340 is a keeper). There are some distinct differences between the two, including the finish. The finish on the M&P340 is much harder and way more durable. The M&P340 also has more of a flat...

How to choose my first (carry)revolver???

Contrary to what's been said, the LCR and Scandium J-Frame are good carry options. A good carry gun is going to be the gun that you actually feel comfortable carrying and one that you will carry. If it is too heavy and too large, you will end up leaving it behind more than carrying it The...

    J Frame Concealed Carry

I am guessing that most of you guys that responded pocket carry don't wear a suit every day. Suit pockets aren't cut for J Frames, especially when put ina holster. The fabric is thinner and the pockets aren't too deep. Unless the suit is overly pleated, it shows. I also fdon't like pocket...

    M&p 340

If that's the case, go with the 360. Then you have the option of SA. Although I have tried the 360 in nearly all of my pants and shorts pockets and haven't found snagging a problem. The spur isn't very long and it lies close to the frame when the hammer is at rest.

    M&p 340

I read that post. I thought that only the cylinder was DLC finished. Is the frame also in the same finish? It's a moot point regardless - I picked up the M&P 360 today. I went in torn between that and the 340. They had a "used" M&P 360 in the case for a price which made it too...

    J Frame Concealed Carry

I am interested in concealed carry options for the J Frame. I wear a suit to work every day. Seems like my options are tuckable holster or ankle carry. What are you guys using for carrying your J Frames? Any practical advice for carrying? Pics appreciated.
