advice for my first AR-15 Bushmaster vs. DPMS

Everything on the internet is true wford,I have experience with quite a few ar brands. My dad currently owns the exact two you are looking at. I handled them both this weekend. I would prefer the dpms because it has the front gas block that has a rail. The carbon 15 has no back up iron...

What could be done differently -- Non-Guns Color Coded?

A real answer to the issue of guns and kids I just had this conversation the other day with my F-I-L. His grandsons and my nephews want to start shooting. I love this idea. The problem is they want to shoot my AR-15 and Glock 17 with 32 round mag, etc. The real problem is the lack of gun...

    Gunstore Opinion

LGS are succesful despite themselves I have had similar experiences to RNBIKER. I had a a LGS that I could walk into and they knew my name and my preferences. I spent thousands of dollars in there every year. They actually would give me a price break because of my loyalty and then it...

Shot spotter Author: EDITORIAL The York Dispatch Date: July 30, 2010 Publication: York Dispatch, The (PA) If York City's ShotSpotter worked as intended, the $600,000 gunfire detector system might be a powerful law enforcement tool, as well as a deterrent to violent criminals. But it...

    "American Guns" TV show.....

Shooting Competition Did anyone notice all the problems they were having with their firearms during the competition? The shooting was poor and the guns seemed to fail a lot for ten rounds or so. I am a glock fan boy and I was thinking those 1911's were probably custom and put together by the...

Wow, that is a horrible story. I feel so bad for you. I have never seen a range were you shoot at the next person with only a dirt berm between you and them. I have only been at ranges were everyone shoots in the same direction. I would not go back there. I dont know if I would call what...

    223 Issue

Hello B-I-L your overall cartridge length should be a minimum of 2.200" and a max of 2.260" are you using the through powder expander? I had nothing but problems with that and with the boat tail bullets you can get them to seat no problem. If you continue to have problems I can give you some...

    Shipping to FFL

Save all emails and a copy of FFL you sent it to and anything associated with the sale and transfer. If you want, you can ship it through a local FFL. That would be really covering your own but.

    Can't find .32 auto load data ...

I looked through the powders you listed and I looked through the bullet weights and I don't think the 90 grain was designed for 32 acp. I find that bullet for 32 h&r magnum. I suggest a 71 grain bullet.

Accurate (light trigger pull) .22 pistol?

My vote is the beretta neos. real nice trigger. I have alot of sisters who shoot with me and all love my sig mosquito. I would stay away from walther p22 because need to shoot mini mags and it can be a little snappy.

Up and down day at the range

I have the ability to help out at the range but it is hard to get any one to tell me what they want done. It just seems they want to keep it their own little private club. I pay my dues just like everyone else. I do find it easier to volunteer with the trout stocking and road clean up. I...

Up and down day at the range

I just got back from my local range, the Isaac Walton /Chapter 67 York PA. The up part was that I was shooting my Beretta Neos and was dead on and running well. The down side was that there were a few guys setting up for the ISPC match this weekend. When the first guy showed up I said hello...

    Trouble with new AR build

Thanks for all the replies! I think the round was getting stuck not allowing the bolt to move. For those who suggest no go guage could you explain hoow to use them. I have seen them and am planning on getting one but unsure how to use them.

    Trouble with new AR build

Go, No-Go guages are for headspacing correct? From what I have read I did not think that I needed to worry about headspacing on factory built components, especially all the components made from same company.

    Trouble with new AR build

OK, they were reloads that got stuck, right? I'm assuming that it was the load that were getting stuck and not the bolt. What sizing die are you using? What seating die are you using? Are you crimping? If so, are you crimping with the seater die? Are you sure that the shoulders aren't collapsed...

    Trouble with new AR build

Skip the Rem UMC, all my guns hate that stuff. I usually use Federal 55gn FMJ (Walmart) for troubleshooting. Noted, and will do. I havent shot factory for a while since I reload for myself.

    Trouble with new AR build

OK I knew these questions would probably be coming I was just hopeful that this problem may not be dependent on alot of factors. Here it goes. It was a complete build, Spikes tactical lower with dpms LPK, The upper is an AR stoner, BCG is an AR stoner and the barrel is a 16" AR stoner. Free...
