Guns you thought you’d like but didn’t…

#1) Kel-tec P40. A delight to carry but brutal on my hands. Sold days later. #2) That aluminum framed FEG Walther pp lookalike in 9mm Mak. All the recoil went right between my index and thumb. One magazine and nope. Moved it on.

    What logo is this

The numbers and symbol on the side of the receiver are Japanese not Ruger. I have 2½ jap rifles. One's a rifle receiver-ed smoothbore training rifle.

    Mauser happy!

Yup. I remember the last of those Persians in the shotgun news. I'm still kicking myself for not buying any all these years later.

Looking forward to the grand opening of the Chandler store. Looks to be fun and a pretty quick drive from here.

    Mexican Mauser

The words "Mexican Mauser" open up a can of worms without pictures. It could be a small ring 95, or a small ring 98, or a large ring 98. Mexico made a bunch of different rifles and bought small runs from Europe regularly.

Wet sand or dry sand for catching bullets?

Dry sand works better. As stated above, the water acts as a lubricant and you need more sand to stop a projectile.

    Where'd all the 25-20 & 32-20 go?

Been looking for some 25-20 and it's all disappeared. Seems not that long ago I could find a bag of 50 for 30 dollars. Now it's unobtainable or over 2 dollars a unprimed shell. What happened or what did I miss?

Pre 64 Model 70 Safety lever question

My '52 in 30-06 isn't that stiff to operate. It takes some force but nothing too hard.

    Ruger 1022 VS American 22lr

Have both. Admittedly the American is a sporter weight barrel. The American always threw 1-2 outta 10 at any range. A good solid plinking rifle and small game to 75 yards I'd say. My 10-22 with a replacement threaded barrel is also a good 75 yard rifle. Only real gripe I have with the...

How many here have killed a chronograph?

Yup. Put a 30-06 square through it. And that's how I ended up with a magneto-speed

    french 8mm lebel

Those little 8mm lebel Berthier carbines have some nasty recoil. I have the rifle version of that little carbine. And even that has a stiff recoil.

    38 special/357 dies - 1 or 2 sets?

3 sets of 38 spl. And 2 of 357. Kept finding used dies at gunshows for cheap. So I just made sets for 148WC, 125gr rn, 158gr rn... etc.

Strange AR-15 build and some gun price/rarity history

The 94-04 A.W. ban. Hadn't thought of that in many a year. I also remember the bayonet lug neutered Ak's going CHEAP in 05, since you could now get a full featured one for cheap.
