i own a 454 and love it but if i was to do it all over again i would get the 460 S&W!
you can shoot 3 different bullets out of the 460.
45 long colt
454 casull
460 S&W
that in itself is awesome.
i moved out of NYS just because of bull sh*t like this.
i live in Washington now and love it. best oaf luck to all you NY trying to get your permits. hope you all have a safe and happy holidays too.
i only own hunting revolvers so anything will bring them down. if i was to choose i would say FMJ if nobody was in my place with me but bad guys. if there are friendlies i choose something with low penetration.
yep
1948 remington pump 16G handed down from grandfather to my dad to me. took my first deer with it. light, simple, bead front sight, ribbed forend. solid firearm.
i would say build something with a 1X8 or 1X7 twist barrel. the lighter the better. Federal offers a 60gr partition that is more then enough for white tails or the like. although the hole will be on the small side the partition will penetrate deep and expand very well.
other then that i guess...
300 Mag is a great round but i use the old tried and true 30-06'. i figure if i need more knock down power i might as well hunt with a 375 H&H.
i have a range that has targets out to 300 yards and the 06' is solid at that range. i WILL ALWAYS try to bring the game in closer but i am confident...
i've heard .223 is just fine as long as your not using the really light stuff. Federal makes a 60 grain partition just for deer. should work just fine for those light skinned game.

first i would get a holster. i like a uncle mikes hip holster. durable, cheap well made for the outdoors. i like the gun close in case something is spotted and i don't have time to dig it out of my pack.
if the holster is not your thing try a light weight fanny pack and wear it in the front...
But your ex takes 99% of it in the divorce.
You have enough for a new weapon and a 3 week hunting trip to Alaska.
What do you buy and what are you going for?
Ya never hunted with a handgun. Boy it is nicer then lugging a scoped mossberg 835 through upstate New York, lol. Bills lost AGAIN today. Depressed. Should probably go shooting to end the day right. We'll see what happens.
thanks all
i guess after the game i need to head out and see what Big B prefers of the three. i'll check groups at 25 and 50 yrds and maybe see what i can do at 100 for $h1t$ and giggles
no.
places i shop always have decent prices on different kinds of revolvers. Sometimes you can find really nice deals. Places i look, the mourning local paper, Cabelas, Sportco and thi shop just down the road (damn what was it's name). Anyway the deals are out there. You just might have to look...
I know of none. start bow hunting with an eighty pound recurve and maybe your fingers will stretch out and solve the problem.
if ya do find another grip though let us all know about it please.
