You know your hearing is bad when your wife thinks you are joking about not being able to hear something.
That's what I live with now. I'm only 40. Like many here I grew up in a "protection optional" environment, and like many here I'm now paying the price. So with that in mind I'm trying to...
I see your small arms and raise you a frggin' Panther.

I donated to his go-fund me. First time I have ever done that. I saw his picture and saw myself, wife and a 2 year old at home. I agree with everything posted above, engaging a shooter with an AR when armed with a handgun is a damn tough pill to swallow. That guy had big brass balls, and...
Tree Rats.
One time some of them got into our little camp house at the farm and ate the following:
Candles
Speaker Wire (ALL OF IT)
Antlers on mounted White Tail Deer
The electrical cord for the vacuum cleaner (ALL of it)
We have an old Jeep Cherokee out there, just like RC they ate about...
In just now starting to get back on this bandwagon. However my early experience was much more informal than most of you it seems. I am fortunate to have an old Sheridan Blue Streak in .20 cal that has been in the family for 40 years old and still shooting strong.
Shooting it has lit a fire...
That's right Gordon. I could never get the scope to sight in with the mount. At 50 yards I had to shoot for the left shoulder of a silhouette target to hit it in the bottom right corner. That's with max adjustment in the scope. 3 separate entities tried to mount it. Myself, a gunsmith, and...
I attempted this recently with my M1A Scout/Squad and a Pulsar Digisight. The short answer is my scope is now sitting on an AR. The long answer is I spent a lot of time and money trying to get the setup to work with very little success. I used a Smith Enterprise mount (steel).
I'm excited for it but I'm also apprehensive. My biggest worry is that 1% element will make us look bad. You know, the blowhard that carries to make everyone think he is a badass?
My experience closely resembles another poster here. I started out with a shotgun, then to a .22, and finally wound up using my .243 due to the ranges involved. Those are some pretty sharp birds. In the end the minute I stopped the truck to line up a shot they were gone no matter how far away...
DeepSouth nailed it. Snakes. They last forever.
As a side note, and maybe I'm weird to think of this, but are humans the same way? I've seen many different animals do the "funky chicken dance" after a headshot, any reason to believe we are any different?
Never knew this activity had a name until now. I agree with the above poster about head shots having more "movement" than others on white tail deer in particular. Some notable experiences that I've had;
1. White Tailed Deer shot to back of head with a .243. Deer fell behind a bush out of...
