    good day gone bad.

Unfortunately there are people who just don't care. Most likely the offender didn't even read the signs there. There is also the chance that the person didn't know they were shooting ap ammo. Not all gun owners engulf the world of guns like us thr members do. Some just buy cheap ammo and like to...

Google SHOPPING to Censor Firearms Related Shopping Results

Its just sad that a company that fights for freedom on the web as such as Google does would censor their own shopping site.

Question for/about local gun stores hours

I can see the point the OP was making. LGS closest to me is closed on Sundays which I didn't know until I went to purchase my latest 1911. I stopped by to pick up a gun I had looked at a week before (on a Saturday) and they were closed. Because I had cash in hand and a big box was nearby I went...

    Kabooms! (Tons of pics)

I've managed to make a squib in my Glock 34 and it did cycle but the next round ran into the squib causing a failure to feed. Its a good thing too because I honestly didn't notice a difference in the recoil probably because the slide cycled.

Gun training in the Twin Cities, Minnesota

Burnsville Pistol range holds beginner handgun courses. http://www.bvpistol.com/courses_1.htm I haven't taken a class from them but I've had nothing but good experiences with the people there. http://www.shadeslanding.com/ these guys do basic handgun also, but looking at their class...

Castle Doctine: You can, but should you?

Nope. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if it was just some dummy that thought he was walking into a buddy's house but got the address wrong, or some drunk that was at the wrong house. I'm sure there will be someone who will chime in that would blow someone away for trying to look through...

Where did all of the people come from?

My own personal experience with some newbies I've taken to the range lately is that they are just getting comfortable with the idea of being around guns. I also think gun owners are maybe more comfortable talking about them with friends which leads to more education and curiosity about guns. I...

    Rough day at the range

Gamestalker -you are correct that it has everything to do with not paying attention. I laid out in my previous post what the deal was. And as far as the jams with 45 I'm not sure if the powder charge would do it since it sometimes hangs when I slingshot the first round in. I'm using 4.0 gr...

    Rough day at the range

Yeah, my plan is to pull the rest of my bad batch which is only 20 rounds. I use an inertia puller so it will still take me a while but a little punishment for myself might do me some good. Good thing is that I know what the cause of the squibs was and I plan on changing up my routine a little...

    Do you load 9mm?

I reload 9mm for the same reasons I reload for 7.62x39, just for the fun of reloading. It is a little bit cheaper but my major motivation is the joy of rollin up my own loads.

    Rough day at the range

Went to the range today and had a few of those moments that make me want to get back in bed and start the day over again. First off, I should start by saying I had my very first squib last weekend after 7-8k rounds loaded. That got me down pretty bad and I wanted vindication today. Started...

    Old Topic...Lesson Learned?

I had it out with one of the oldtimers at deer camp about this issue a couple years ago. Not only does he think you shouldn't be allowed to hunt with them but he doesn't even think we should own them. His one argument is the old "you don't need something like that" kinda argument. He hunts...

    Does anyone else recover bullets?

I've only managed to collect one bullet out of the shoulder of a very big buck. Blew through the one shoulder and stopped on the second one. The core lot bullet mushroomed as advertised and quickly dropped the big guy. I also keep the brass when I can find it. Not just for reloading but for...

    How would you handle this?

I've had to correct eldrs too. With my dad I've always been direct and he prefers it that way. There was one time I had some old timer I was hunting with point his gun at my leg region while we were chatting. In that situation I kept it subtle while still getting the point across. I looked...

    Time passer

I use deer hunting as a good excuse to not touch my electronics at all. I still bring my phone for emergencies but don't touch it unless it rings. I am alone with my thoughts and that's just the way I like it. I do know people who text and take pictures and still do good on their hunts you...

Recipe check for .45ACP 230gr. FMJ please

I've loaded a few thousand .45ACP with Unique. Usually I'm at 5.8 but have loaded up to 6.2. My OAL is 1.25 and everything feeds and functions great in my 1911 as well as a buddy's HK.

    Bucket List Hunts

Top of the list is to head to Alaska and get Moose, Grizzly, Caribou and Wolf. The rest: Rocky Mountain Elk NE Trophy whitetail hunt Pronghorn in Wyoming Bighorn - Rocky Mountains Red Stag in New Zealand (guided, free range) The Elk hunt has been on my list for a while now. I've been...

    Neck Shots.....

Not that I defend it, but my dad has been using nothing but neck shots on the closer shots for the last 5 years or so. I've seen deer that he hit pretty low on the neck too and even they would drop right where they were, possibly from the shock I guess. He aims dead center on the neck area...

    Magnums at the range.

The times I've brought the .357 mag to the indoor range and there were people there I would just get the grins and giggles from the other people there. They usually stand back until I'm done though and I can understand why.
