I've read about the Hogue stock and it seems if it's not bedded properly, the stock will come in contact with the barrel, especially when used with a tripod and may cause accuracy issues...
I'm new to the gun community, but I've already named my first gun.
My first purchase a few months ago was a Remington 597 from Dicks. I've named her "Ethel." I plan on keeping with the Lucy theme and have already planned my next few purchases. My next purchase will be an 870 named "Fred."...
My buddy just picked up a Romanian AK from Classic Arms. Pretty sweet. I think total it came to just over $400 which included a bag and a few other items.
I just picked up a Remington 597 about a month ago for about $180. Shortly after that I spent about $25 on 500 rounds of ammo.
Cheap and fun to shoot right out of the box.
Hello,
My name is Matt and I'm from Upstate NY (Albany area). I just purchased my first firearm about a month ago. It was a Remington 597. Great little gun. I'm currently in the process of getting my pistol permit and am looking at possibly picking up a Remington 870 in the near future.
Congrats on the purchase. I recently purchased my first rifle about a month ago. A Dick's special Remington 597, which didn't come with iron sights, but a Remington 3x9 scope. Got it at Crossgates. (I'm also from around the Albany area). Been out shooting with it many times already. Shoots great...
I picked up my first gun (Remington 597) about a month ago. I have since named her Ethel, gone on 2 vacations and talked to her at least once a week. That includes 2 days at the farm.
Oh, Ethel.
Edit: Oh, and I missed her during both week-long vacations.
