personally I own a ruger .44 carbine semi auto and it runs hornady leverevolution 225 grain amazingly well never had any issues and have taken pigs at 125 yards no issues I would stretch it to maybe 175-200 tops but have not had to as I live in an area where there’s rarely even 100 yards of...
I feel like no matter what time we are talking about the .30-06 prevails if you put a new title to the thread that said as you mentioned "I’m going to get a new rifle for deer and what cartridge should I get?" Disclaimer I will only ever own 1 rifle for deer and it could be used anywhere in the...
.44 mag will do anything .45 LC will and you can shoot .44 special much cheaper than 45 LC for plinking and be much more powerful with .44 mag rounds without needing to reload.
if your in a self defense situation and shoot someone 1-3 times and the remain moving towards your shoot their pelvic bone same goes for bears and other animals that may come straight at you if you shoot the pelvic bone no matter how doped up they are they cant walk i see people practicing 2 to...
keltecs should be outlawed

michael R: i think you are wrong in most situations the civilian has the upper hand most leo are only good at shooting pistols and they only shoot to qualify and as far as military
most of the military guys are horrible shots with pistols and shotguns and decent with rifles because thats what...
i personally disagree with all of you but thats why its great to be american i dont just shoot a pistol to see how far i can be accurate to i see how fast i can shoot small groups
pistols are defensive weapons and in a realistic scenario shouldnt be needed past 10-15 yards 96% of all defensive...
i wouldnt do it personally but that being said if i where to buy a gun and it had a problem i wouldnt blame the guy i bought it from i would blame myself for not noticing if you go looking you usually know what your looking for and you should know what to check for and how to dissassemble the...
another little piece of advice if you find out you got a nonapproval and go through the appeal process make sure you get a unique personal identification number or upin so you dont have this problem in the future
i work at a gun store now and used to work at gandermtn that said the guy at academy is a idiot what happens more times then not is the nics gets busy and puts people on delay as you call it but its actually a conditional nonapproval after 3 business days and most places will say 3 full business...
pps43: just curious what makes you think a soft point .223 round has less penetration then effective shotgun loads?
in my mind buckshot is the most effective in a defensive situation and would penetrate much less than a soft point .223
also you said its easier to operate one handed...
does anybody know about a kydex holster for iwb with a lining similar to safarilands als owb holsters and similar to the safariland 18 holsters just with a structure to it and suede liner
to po2hammer:
first of all the start of the thread is implying the op wants to know which we think is better and so its not arguing it is called weighing the differences to see which has more pluses that said did you not see my handle? thatguy686 so i will be "that guy" anyways the reason i...
to gc burner: i just wanted to put the thought in your mind im the type of guy i dont just push the magazine release and let the magazine fall to the ground im in the habbit of grabbing the magazine and keeping it on my person and being able to know should it not drop free i can just pull it out...
in response to member 481: where did you read this? because i have personally shot fn's factory 5.7 round into a level three vest and it went through both sides of the vest when it was shot with 9mm .40 .45 .357 .38 and .500 magnum none of them even penetrated one side of the vest so the factory...
your best bet to break in the holster is to make sure the gun is unloaded and reholster repeatedly and wear the holster without the gun it will bend and flex and loosen up a little
