Wear your safety glasses at the range!

Range here provides free eye and ear protection, you'd have to be a dummy not to use it. I always have my own and extras since I don't like wearing stuff after others. Most people are pretty disgusting, I find.

    22 lr

Because the controls on my .22LR mirror the controls on my .45, and that's the reason I got it in the first place.

Shooting range etiquette: Picking up brass

Indoor range where I used to live asked you to sweep all brass forward of the line under the counter. They claim it's because they have limited lanes, however when I'm paying for my lane by the hour how I spend the hour should be my business. Strangely they didn't have rules against steel...

    Yugoslavian unloading?

Have anything to do with an SKS' tendency to slam fire if the firing pin is stuck? I have a Yugo SKS and don't keep it loaded for the possibility of it slamfiring when the bolt is released.

Are you buying ammo at higher than market prices?

I have purchased CCI .22LR at $15/box, about double the normal price when you figure in taxes. I only need it for one gun. I have started shooting 1/2 a box instead of a whole box on range days. I got the 1911 .22 because it was cheaper than .45 and easy for practice. It still is. As long...

    Anyone had an anti-gun family?

My parents were never against guns, just never saw the need; we were blind to reality living in the middle of suburbia. That changed in 2008. You know why. It started with a pistol for my dad, then one for my mom, then another, and another, and it kinda snowballed (when my mom allows that...

    G2 R.I.P. Ammo

Unicorns don't exist, but that word is in the dictionary... http://www.physicsclassroom.com/class/circles/u6l1d.cfm Those RIP bullets look pretty cool. Wonder if there are feeding issues? I'd buy a box just to support an innovative company.

    Not the expected .22 rant

I bet I could carry many more double eagles than boxes of .22, so I would take the stack of coins :D

    G2 R.I.P. Ammo

A fact that my high school physics teacher lamented to no end. And after years studying aerospace engineering before switching majors I have no problem enlightening people; it's one of my pet peeves.

    G2 R.I.P. Ammo

Checked out the MIB. When the term "centrifugal force" is used under how it works the company loses all credit for understanding physics in my book...

    AR15 upper question

Ordered a P-Tac BCG because it was cheap. Put it in another AR and had no problems putting 100rds thru it. Something to note from PSA, they are extremely slow to ship. Had I known this before I placed my order I would not have completed check out.

Could walmart (et al) put a stop to this ammo shortage?

If I could find CCI Mini-Mags for $17/box I'd buy several boxes. Only thing my Sig 1911/22 shoots...

    High Point firearms

Ugly? Check. Heavy? Check. Accurate? Check. Reliable? Check. But on the plus side, if you run out of bullets you could realistically kill the aggressor by beating them with it. And yes, I own the 9mm. I've had nights at the bar where I spent more than the Hi-Point cost, and...

    Best Birthday Gift Ever!

Congrats! And yes it is fun to go out there with my Maverick 88 and score better than the guys with "B" or "P" O/U guns.

How far do you drive to shoot if at all?

About 10 miles. Range is free. Ear and eye protection are provided, as are targets and stands. Pistol range out to 50yds, rifle range to 100yds. Covered with benches and tables. Also has a trap/skeet station, $5/round you bring the gun and shells. And I thought I was lucky where I used...

Is the pistol-caliber carbine/sub-gun functionally obsolete?

Waiting around for a good deal on a CX4 in .40 so I can share ammo with my CZ, Glock, and XD .40's. Or a CX4 in 9mm so I can share ammo with my CZ, Glock, or EAA 9mms. It would be nice to go to the range and just bring one kind of ammo.

(short article) Robbery at an Armslist Transaction

As a former resident of AL I can say this level of reporting is on par for al.com, what with sketchy details and all. I've done quite a few Armslist and Craigslist transactions, buying and selling. Even sold a car on Craigslist. For firearms, meet at a sporting goods store during daylight, or...

    I confess = I did "it".

Gun range I started going to here only allows one caliber at the line at a time. I guess now I know why.

Ever had a gun sale go bad while in the process

Had it happen this morning. Sold a TV on Craigslist since it got replaced this holiday season. Nothing major, 20" LCD, old old old, no HDMI inputs on it, no remote, pedestal stand missing, etc. Had it listed for $30 as it was really just taking up space in my game room. Guy showed up and...
