Thanks guys. That's what I had in mind. Achieving tactical accuracy, but not bench rest accuracy.
I wonder if it's necessary to check for run out when loading for tactical matches. It's time consuming, and I'm not sure it's worth the effort. About 80-90% of my rounds seem to fall within...
Zak,
What twist rate is your .308? I've just started experimenting with 155 grain bullets and Varget, but my .308 is a 10 twist, and I'm wondering if that's to fast a twist for that bullet.
weighing brass
bds,
weighing all those cases may be fun now, but at some point you might want to shoot. i know some seriously good shots who never weigh their brass. i've never done it, and it doesn't seem to have effected my shooting much either.
I'm curious to know if you were reloading for a tactical shooting event, let's say an event with long range targets of unknown distances, how differently would you reload as compared to more of a precision target shooting event. I'm not talking about the most obsessive type bench rest reloading...
I was just checking and it looks as if the 2155 Sierra is the Palma Bullet.
Is that right? I have the 155 bullets that aren't Palmas. Would this significantly change the load data? Thanks very much for the information.
Thanks SlamFire - I had planned on trying IMR4895, R-15, and Varget with these new
155 grain bullets. My rifle seems to really like 4895 with other HPBT's so maybe that's what I'll end up going with.
I was hoping someone could help me out with starting to max
charge for Reloader 15 and .308 155 gr. SMK HPBT bullets. I can't
seem to find those numbers on the web on my manuals. Thanks
in advance!
