    Need advise on loading .30-'06

Went to the range today. Loaded 61 grs of RL22 with 180grn Nosler Accubond. WW cases and WW large rifle primers. No chrono, but shot half inch three shot groups from my factory M70. Have used IMR 4350 extensively in past. Good powder, but RL22 takes the cake for accuracy.

    .30 Gibbs

I'm thinking of rechambering my M70 '06 to Ack Imp to get extended case life and 2800fps with 180 grn and RL 22 in WW cases. Have 22" bbl. After reading this thread am now thinking about the Gibbs. Anyone have any idea on what velocity talking about in 22" bbl? How does it differ from the 30...

    6.5 '06 As a long range cartridge

Well, sheeeeooot guys. Now I'm not sure it will be worth effort. Am an '06 guy for most stuff. Cannot suffer loss of a family member like a good bbl every 3k rounds though. Had heard that 6.5 was indeed "inherantly" accurate. What do you all think about a 7mm 08 improved? Save on powder...

    6.5 '06 As a long range cartridge

Have an enormous amount of new and once fired '06 brass. Am thinking of rifle for informal target, deer and elk harassment. Like the idea of light recoil, good velocity, high sectional density bullets and great accuracy. Idea of success is shooting 140 grain bullet at 2900fps out to...

    .30-06 spring. and RL-22

I have the same M70 set up. Have been using 56grn IMR 4350 and 180 bullets, WWbrass and WWlrg rifle primers. Results are fine, but when chronographed am getting 2700fps. Was thinking of switching to RL22 for 180 and 200 grainers. What luck did you have in your RL22 load development?
